Default Which fxeyes contacts to buy?

I have tried many many contacts, like solotica quartzo and other ones and they're just not very light on my eyes, so i want to try fxeyes, either the ADRIANA one OR the ICY GREEN ones: (youtube has videos of both)
I dont know which one to get, im tanned with black hair.. also are they even worth it? a lot of people sell them when they get it, has anyone had them? are they satisfied?

Thank you!

I would research the hell out of it beforehand--if you see a pair on youtube that you like ask the person what size pupil hole they got, and if they were toned down--then send a link to the video when you place your order to make sure that's what you get

I think that the lenses are very expensive but worth it--people get them toned down so they can perfect them--but the whole reason why they're ordering customs is so they have that option

If you have a darker complexion you should def have them toned down to at LEAST 7/10 so they don't look unnaturally bright

What does "toned down to at LEAST 7/10" mean?

These are custom handpainted lenses---you can tell them how bright you would like them to be---if they are too bright they will look unnatural with a darker complexion

When you tone it down you are darkening the color a bit--you can also ask them to make them bluer or greener

People often send them back to be tweaked because that is the whole point of customs, to get them EXACTLY the way you want them--and the adjustments are included in the price

So when you say "7/10" you're saying that those lenses are seven out of ten for brightness? 70% of their full potential?

Yes---they are still just as opaque and colored--just not so bright--the full brightness only looks good on a very fair person

Here's Fxeyes in Heaven--the first pic hasn't been toned down and the 2nd has

See the difference?

Yeah, the lenses on the left seem to have a greenish "halo" around the pupil that's not visible in the other picture.

That's surprising that the Quartzo lenses didn't lighten up your eyes. I've seen lots of videos and pictures of people with really, really dark eyes wearing Quartzos, and they turned their eyes either blue-green, blue-grey, or grey-green. What did they look like on you?

The Fx lenses do look really nice, especially the "Heaven" color - so aptly named! But whoa - $$$$$ I adore colored contacts, but I really don't wanna hafta put a kidney on craigslist to buy them!

Looking forward to seeing photos of whichever ones you choose. Good luck!

"Kidney on Craigslist." That's funny, Shamrocker.

Do you know of any really nice color contact lenses that won't cost an arm and a leg--or a kidney?

Nah 80-100 bucks for an annual pair

Can't really beat that, the disposables don't look as good and end up to be more expensive anyway

That does sound like a pretty good price when you break it down per month, but putting down a hundred dollars when a new year begins might be dicey. Does insurance cover annual contact lenses?

I doubt they would cover cosmetic lenses that are coming from another country...if your budget is that tight you could spring for a pair of 30 use Waicons for about 50 bucks--you can stretch those 30 uses over the course of 6 months or so if you don't wear them constantly

Nah not really, I wear Acuvue Moist Dailies, mix in some Acuvue Define Dailies when I feel like wearing circle lenses--just bought my 2nd pair of Soloticas, and I already own Waicons

I'll probably spring for customs at some point, the price tag is a little steep though

I understand. Enjoy your off-the-shelf lenses until you can afford those custom jobs.

A pair of Quartzos, just like my sister's---love em =D
I want to try the Crystals but I'm not sure if they're too similar to the Quartzos

Cool - I'm not surprised you wanted some after seeing how good they looked in the pic you posted of your sister. I think that's going to be my second color of Soloticas too. But the Topazios are so pretty too - I'm ridiculously indecisive! Did you get them from viallure? I've never shopped there, but I think it might have been you that recommended them. Their shipping is higher than lensmarketplace (where I ordered before) but the lens price is lower, so it works out to be about the same final cost. I was very satisfied with lensmarketplace and didn't think a month was that long to get them to the US, but if I can get them quicker from viallure, I'll go there.

The Cristals look nice too, and I think they may have the smaller pupil hole like the Topazio, Quartzo and Esmeraldas. At least it looks that way in pictures. That's an important feature if you're wearing a lens in a completely different color than your natural one. I was a little concerned about reduced nighttime visual acuity from it, but I haven't noticed any.

I ordered from Lens marketplace at first but after 3 weeks they hadn't even mailed out my lenses--I complained and they gave me a refund

So I ordered from Otica Bellucci---with the lenses and 5 day rush shipping it came to $105--the lenses alone cost 65 so with regular shipping it would have come to about 80--but at this point I was really impatient

I've had a good experience ordering from Viallure, I was just getting antsy and Otica's prices are better, it's just a little tricky because the site has to be translated (unlike Viallure) and you have to figure out the conversion from Brazilian Reals yourself

Crystals have a larger pupil hole than Quartzos and Topazios but it is feathered so it is supposed to blend in with you natural eye better
They're also more opaque than Quartzos

Maybe I will order a pair when my Waicon Blue Greys expire--I would just hate to spring for a pair that looked almost the same as the Quartzos that I already own-although I think the Quartzos have a blue green tone to them

Yeah I found that very suspicious myself
How can you compare a $25 pair of Geo or Vassen circle lenses to $500 customs and say the cheap lenses win?

I mean look at the Geos Nudy Green and Vassen lenses compared to Fxeyes Icy Green

Is the Fxeyes Icy Green lens the one on the bottom? That's the one I like best. The others look too "speckley."
