Is it just me or are all color contact lenses either a 14 or 14.5 diameter?

I've only found one color contact lens that is NOT a 14 or 14.5. Illusions by CibaVision. I have to wear a 13.8 DIA and 8.6 Base Curve. Now, Freshlook does make a daily disposable lens that has a 13.8 DIA but it is only for light eyes and I have dark brown eyes so they don't work for me-as far as changing eye color. It's kind of annoying that the popular brands like Acuvue & Freshlook dont make colored contacts in anything but 14 and 14.5.

You comment confuses me a bit, because you say that your eyes look better in lenses that are size 14.5 than they do in 14.2. That's a tiny, tiny difference. Are you sure it's not the color or the material that makes the difference? I don't know what unit of measurement the number 14 refers to, but if 14 of them aren't quite as wide as your contacts, imagine a difference of less than one, less than half of one, if you can. Maybe you're right and I just don't understand contact lens sizes like I should. Can someone help clear this up? |

![]() I am basing my observation on Solotica brand contacts (14.2 d) and FreshLook ColorBlends contacts (14.5 d). Freshlook really makes my eyes stand out by looking much BIGGER. I am not sure if it's because of the coloring or the diameter itself. I would guess the coloring of the colorblends, with yellow dots along the pupil hole would have something to do with it. It just seems like a big difference, side to side, not to have something to do with the diamter difference: Freshlooks are the bright colors with the blunt pupil hole soloticas are the blue lens with the dark limbal ring |
