Its really cool but dangerous. Some people used colored lenses just for fun. Curiosity and the eagerness to try. Other is a must. But more importantly that before putting in the desired lenses it is really safe if we must consult a doctor first to be worry free

I love color contacts. I always find it fun to time how long it takes for my friends to notice the change.

That sounds like fun, Tigger! So what were the fastest and slowest times? Has anyone taken days to spot the change?

What do I think? Well, I think they're a bit vain, honestly. I also wonder what happens when two people are just getting to know each other, and one of them has to admit that those beautiful eyes that captured the other's attention are fake. I'd hate to have to tell someone that I was wearing color contacts, especially if I tried to keep it a secret.

To me it's like wearing a wig, a girdle or a padded bra. If the relationship works out, eventually the truth will have to come out. Why start out with a deception?

On the other hand, if you want someone to do a double take at the checkout counter because of your striking blue or green eyes, and then you just walk away, I don't suppose any harm is done then.

There's a post in Lens 101 somewhere where this young lady was being hit on my this guy whom she was not impressed with. When he told her how pretty her eyes were, she popped out one of her color contacts and gave it to him!

I have "eyes that mezmerize", when I would wear my violet contact lenses. Would I not tell someone that they were fake? NO!. I also wear hair extensions occasionally and false eyelashes a few times a year. Do I tell anyone about this also? Sure do. I even took off "my hair" and fake eyelashes right there on the spot. It's not a big deal.
Would I go into the nearest bathroom and wash off all of my make-up, so that he could see the "real" me? NO WAY!!!
Am I a walking/talking contradiction? You Bet!

Honestly, whenever I think of contact lenses, it seems fashionable but painful. I don't use contacts because I am quite afraid of wearing it. How many times should we take it off in a day?

Contact lenses are not painful once you get used to them, and if you have weekly, monthly or annual contacts, you take them out zero times a day.

Kyles,

They are NOT painful if you are fitted correctly; do not be afraid of wearing them because you think that they may be. Initially, you do have to start off slowly. First few days only wear them for a couple of hours, then gradually build up your wearing time. Your doctor is the only one to determine whether you're a good candidate for contacts and everything that goes along with them.
Good Luck. . . if that's what you decide.

Hi Prettiejen. I messed around with the spacing in your post so now it looks like a poem. I thought it sounded kind of poetic when I first read it.

Anyway, why would you say that these are dangerous? Handling live cobras is dangerous. Wearing color contacts is perfectly safe as long as you follow instructions.

"Curiosity killed the cat; but satisfaction brought it back".

The lenses are non-invasive; your vision is slightly better and more comfortable compared to glassses; if you just want clear contacts, the cost is fairly inexpensive. But. . . I am rather biased towards contacts (can ya tell?) One thing that I have learned over the years is: Don't dwell too much over it. Simply (and briefly) weigh the pros and cons, then go with what you feel is best.

What's really weird, is that yesterday in my ceramics class, I made a coiled basket with a cobra coming out the top -- JUST LIKE THE FRIGGING PICTURE ABOVE! Creepy.

Too bad this forum doesn't have a ceramics section.

Default Colored contacts are like jewlery

They enhance what u have and what ur wearing. If u want to be flashy then wear flashy colors, if want to be subtle then go w more natural colors. I love them all. Funa nd great change of look.

Hi loveme. Welcome to Lens 101. So would you consider yourself more flashy or subtle?

I don't get your little verse there, catt. I've heard the first part about curiosity many times, but the satisfaction part is new. What does that mean?

Do you get complements on your blue or green eyes when you're out clubbing or raving?

That's true. If you have extended wear contacts that are fitted properly, you don't have to worry about taking them out for at least a week.

I see what you're saying about making small changes in your appearance just for the sake of a little variety. Still, hair extensions and fake nails are a lot easier to do that putting something in your eyes, if you're not used to it.
