Default Color Contacts for Non-Brown Eyes

Is it mostly people with brown eyes who wear color contact lenses? Is there anyone on this board with any eye color but brown who wears color contacts?

Here's the real scary question: Who here wears Color Contact Lenses to make their eyes brown?

Default Color Contacts for Non-Brown Eyes

Okay, it's been almost a year and I'm going to try this again. Who here wears color contact lenses who does NOT have brown eyes? What color are your eyes and what color are your contacts?

prettiejen23, I'm not sure I understand your question. You asked "Is there no limitation of time in using a colored lenses?" Are you asking how long you can wear color contact lenses? The answer depends on what kind you get. I think most of them are monthly, though.

As for the rest of your posting, plenty of people with good vision wear color contact lenses, so they're safe and recommended.

Wow, that's surprising. I didn't think anyone would wear brown contact lenses to cover a different color. I'm glad you love them.

Wow, what an interesting technique you use to post pictures on this forum, ziggy. I like the way it looks like you have an extra pair of eyes on your forehead.

The brown lenses look nice on you. In that particular picture it's hard to see if your natural color shows through the pupil hole or not, but at least they didn't turn your eyes into some strange color or something. Are they comfortable to wear all day?

As long as I use rewetting drops, they are comfortable to wear all day.

That's good to know, ziggy62. How often do you have to use those re-wetting drops? Is it just a few times a day or more like every five minutes? I bet it's something in between. Maybe I should ask you this: If you're going out of the house for a few hours, getting something to eat, for example, do you usually take some drops with you? Can you eat a meal in a sit-down restaurant without re-wetting?

Sorry to be so nosy. I'm just curious.

I don't really go out much. However, I keep a spare bottle in my purse. Once every hour or two is usually sufficient.

Okay Jessica. I saw your other post with the brown eyes, and they look gorgeous! Here is a pic of me with colorblends blue over blue/green eyes. The effect on me is a darker blue, which I like. The bottom pair of eyes is the contacts.

Okay ziggy62. Are you going to show us what you look like with only one pair of eyes? From what I can see, I think you look pretty nice, but with an extra pair of eyes on your forehead, it's hard to tell for sure.
Wear your blue Colorblends. I'd just like to see how they look in relationship to your whole face. I think it's important to see the overall effect of contact lenses, not just our eyes. What do you think?

Thank you!
Yours look really natural, I can't tell that their contacts. I've seen brilliant blue contacts on brown eyes and they look really striking, do you think the blue contact effect on brown eyes is bigger than on green/light eyes? I want blue contacts but i also want them to be like in-your-face blue, like you could see from a small distance that their vibrant blue, not completely fake looking though
oh and have you tried the gemstone green? i would love to see what difference they make in light/mid green eyes

Since my desire is to darken light eyes, I don't use gemstone green or any of the ones that really light them up. I tried carribean aqua (free sample) and I looked scary. I didn't like it at all. But on dark eyes, it might look okay. Try to get a sample first before investing in them, just in case they look scary on you too. I guess my eyes aren't as light in real life as they are in these pics, because I take the "before" pics close up in bright light. However, the darker my eyes look, the better my face looks. But other people prefer light eyes, so I guess it's just a case of people wanting what they don't have.

I looked for the picture you posted, Jessica and it seems you removed it. Something about the picture being "scary huge." Is there any chance you can shrink it down and post it here? Maybe here and back in the original thread so people don't get confused by all the talk about pictures that aren't there?

Yikes. Online stalkers are bad news. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Have you looked around this site and found how unique your picture posting style is? I might even go so far as to say it's totally unique. I think you're the only one, Ziggy.

Cool. Make sure to say hello the next time you go home for a visit.

Hey, would any of your multi-ocular friends be in need of sunglasses or contacts?

Looks like that orange thing has 26 eyes. That's thirteen pairs of sunglasses and 24 contact lenses. We need to sign this one up!

To answer the OP, I have pale green eyes. I don't currently wear color contacts, but the next time I go see the eye doc I'm going to ask for a trial pair of brown contacts. I love my natural color, but I'm really curious to see how I'd look with dark eyes.

It's been about a year since you asked these questions, prettiejen23. I hope you have fond the answers you were looking for. If not, let me see what I can do.

You asked about "limitation of time in using colored lenses." No, you can't wear your colored contacts forever. Most of them have to be changed once a month, but there are all kinds with different time limitations including daily and weekly contacts.
You can wear colored contacts even if your vision is perfect. These contacts are called "plano" and are just clear.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi there Clamity_Jen. I love that screen name. Anyway, do you have your brown contact lenses yet? Can we see them if you do?

If you can't buy contact lenses from your eye doctor, try lens.com. Just have your prescription ready and click on the red box in the upper right corner of this page.

Or you can just copy and paste this URL: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/department95.asp

Let me know what happens next, okay?

Yes, you should try Lens.com. They sponsor this forum and I've not heard a lot of negative things about it here either. The sponsor doesn't pay the people who post here, of course, so it's not like the get "a cut of the action" if they say nice things about them. Give them a try.
