"Natural" Fake Eye Color

What's all this I hear about contact lenses looking "natural." People say "buy these contacts. They look natural." It's like saying "wear these contact lenses. They don't look like contacts." Why would you want to change your appearance so that no one will notice? Unless you're a fugitive from the law, you want people to notice and comment, right?

I'm reminded of some dialogue (I guess you could call it that.) from my favorite movie.

"Keep your distance, Chewie. But don't look like you're keeping your distance.
"Rrrrrraaaahhhwwwwwrr?"
"I don't know. Fly casual."

I'm sure different people would have different reasons than mine but for me looking natural is my personal style. I like brightly colored streaked hair and tattoos but they aren't really me. I prefer a more subdued drama. I would like to have lt.green or gray blue eyes, not electric green ones that look like they were drawn on but like I was actually born with them, not so people will ogle my eyes but because if they look natural they will contribute to what I want to achieve as an overall effect for my general appearance. I don't necessarily care if people notice or comment about the change, just that I like it when I look in the mirror and that it suits me. Just one perspective. ps.Chewbaka rocks.

It sounds like you're wearing contact lenses for your own enjoyment. It doesn't matter if others notice your colored contacts, but it is nice to see yourself in the mirror and think "That looks nice."
Does that sound about right?

Some businesses frown on overt eye colors and styles. It’s so natural, you can change your color without seeming overt.

That sounds like a great Christmas Eve tradition, psimonk. I remember watching Return of the Jedi on Thanksgiving one year.

What could be the difference between a fake contacts from a natural contacts? I know that some contact lenses have different styles and fancy designs. Is this what you consider fake?

I would like to wear contact lens with different kinds of color. It doesn't matter what other people would say for as long as I like it. Anyway, I just want to know, what color of contact lens would be good during night time?

In my opinion, there's no such thing as "natural" contact lenses. Even if they aren't colored, they're still something artificial that you put in your eyes.

There's nothing wrong with wearing contact lenses if you need them and can wear them. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with colored contacts either. However, as Jimmy's Devoted pointed out, some business do not allow their employees to wear colored contact lenses because they're not considered to be "professional."

You called it "A New Hope" and not "Star Wars." That's the sign of a true fan in my book.

Calling the first movie "Star Wars" is understandable. Calling it "Star Wars I" is not.

Probably the same color that will be good during the day, I would think.

On your comment that "It doesn't matter what other people would say for as long as I like it." That's fine if one or two people don't like your choice of contact lenses. People have different opinions, and that's okay. However, if nine out of ten people express disapproval of your contacts--taking into account that most people really don't care one way or the other--that large number of disapproving people should give you pause.
