Color Contact Addiction?

I read something where a person made a joke about people being "addicted" to color contact lenses. Of course, this would not be a chemical dependency like a drug addiction, but there still may be people out there who "need" to keep changing the color of their eyes and feel very out of sorts when they can't, for whatever reason.
Is this really true, or is my imagination getting the best of me? IS there some kind of behavioral "dependence" on changing one's appearance?

I think so lots of people on this web site are totally lensaholics and to be quite honest im one of them. I dont know what it is but i have almost every color and im still looking for the right one but will i ever find it? Well thats what i think thanks Elton.

Hi Elton,

Thanks for sharing what you think. Here's my question to you, though. How do you know you haven't found the "right" color? You've got quite a few pictures up here in Lens 101 so I know you're a good looking guy. (Unless you're posting someone else's picture.

) You've probably got the male population here jealous and the female population just sighing.
To answer your question, you will not find the right color contacts if you don't know what you're looking for.

Thanks so much and i think i found my right color im in love with my new Baby blue lens by Natural Touch I was looking for something natural and baby blue in color but thankx Elton.

Well, it's been a few weeks since you posted this message. Are you still "in love" with your Baby Blue Natural Touch contacts?

What seems to be wrong about it? My cousin have different colored contacts. She told me that colored contact lens would add self confidence. And she really feels good about it. Fancy contact lens are quite addictive.

I agree with you, Kyles. Some people are quite addictive to colored contact lens because they feel good whenever they wear it. The eyes get more attractive as well. However, do you think it is advisable to change contact lens 2-3 times a day?

I don't know if you were addressing this question to kyles414 or to everyone reading the thread, but I'm going to jump in anyway.

I don't see any reason why you'd have to change your contact lens 2-3 times a day. If that's happening, a trip to the eye doctor is in order. You should at least be able to get a full day out of them, and, depending on what kind you have, you could be able to go a month with a single pair. 2-3 times a day is too much.

I don't see a problem with a person who likes to experiment with different looks. There are lots of things in your life you can't change, so it's good to have some measure of control. If your new eye color attracts some attention and you enjoy it, I don't have any problem with it as long as you practice "safe contact lens wearing."

Don't wear them too long, and--if they're not daily disposables--make sure you clean them properly between uses.
