I discover recently the opaque solotica natural colors: I love the emmerald and topaz colors and it seems the pupil is smaller than the other brands.
Has anyone has pictures of this lens?. I have dark brown eyes and I need to see the final result before decide to buy them... also, can you recommend any other decent natural brands that had opaque lens' Thanks! |

yes, the Natural Cors line in these colors (Emerald, Topazio, and Quartzo) have a smaller pupil hole. However, I would not be taken in by this since these colors by solotica specifically look the most unnatural of all their lenses. These lenses are meant to be more opaque for dark eyes but the pupil hole is NOT as well blended into the natural eye as solotica's other lens colors and lines (hidrocor, hidrocharme).
Also, whenever color contact lens come with a smaller pupil hole, it tends to look more unnatural. This is because the natural pupil changes diameter and in different lights, it is much more strikingly obvious that your eyes are set to perceive in bright light only --> pupil contracts in brighter lighting. Also, any color from the contact lens can be seen as convex over the eye from the side, which is not the case in natural eyes. In natural eyes, the iris lies in a flatter plane underneath of the cornea, which follows a convex semisphere over the iris. I would actually advise you to wait until the Solotica Icemint comes out. It is a highly awaited new lens color in Natural cors and hidrocor that should be out this summer/ fall. It is supposed to be made with more opaqueness than soloticas traditional lens but less freakiness than the topazo-emerald-quartzo lenses. |

they're pretty cheap @ oticabellucci . I think other stores have them at a higher price just because shipping worldwide is a big deal. Also, soloticas are annual lenses so I think they're a lot cheaper than disposables like frshlooks. And beleive me, I know because I used freshlooks exclusively for 4 years before lookign around and deciding soloticas were really uber natural looking and I HAD to buy them.

I'm def. sticking with hodrocharme or NT, I quite like the ocre or mel.
Hidrocolor looks terrible for my taste, look blurry and looks like you are blind! Argh. Anyone with very dark eyes have the ocre or mel please? |

Ocre is ochre as you guessed but this time is a light hazel with a hint of a grey shine. "Me"l is honey, a light hazel with a spark of green. Solotica named them like this, not me, sorry for giving you a head ache ![]() |

Hi! I am a veteran Brazilian color contacts wearer, and I can tell you that Solotica does have some of the most comfortable lenses out there. Unfortunately though, that comfort that I certainly found in the Hidrocor lenses, I did not find in the Natural Colors Topazio. I have to disagree that they are not natural looking, because they are very natural looking and the colors are umbelievably great, but the lenses, despite being the same size and material as all other solotica color lenses, are thinner, and they slide around a lot in my eyes, making my eyes drier and the tolerance for the contacts minimal. I have pictures in my album of my eyes with the topazio lens on, as well as a picture of how dark my brown eyes are. I recommend checking it out if you want to see for yourself how great they look. In fact, here is the picture of me with the Natural Color Topazio.

Just one more thing, I buy from an online store that has service in English (Click the British Flag) and that is fast, reliable and great prices (the lenses last a year, so remember that). It is called Viallure, and the link is http://www.viallure.com.br/
I also recommend visiting my blog and if you would like to, becoming a follower. It's http://bestcolorcontacts.blogspot.com/ |

I wish I had read this thread before buying NC Esmeralda, its true the pupil size is small so it looks a bit strange on, but at night it looks great. I would not wear it during the day.
i think when the lens moves around it just means that it is not a good fit. the base curve is off. I like my Soloticas though but they do tend to dry out faster than the Freshlooks. I use Blink for contacts to make them more comfortable. As far as Icemint, I am sooo curious to see someone post it here as I saw some pictures on Bonanzle but it would be better if you can see the whole face. I hope someone posts soon. |

i know bad thing about colors is that they dont offer a lot of different base curves, even Acuvue colors only comes in one base curve so do the Soloticas. SO the ones that silde aroud and are not fitting, then you have no choice but to get another brand? I think.

Sometimes the base curve can be off by a little and lens moves, I think if you are a 8.6 and wear an 8.7 base curve , freshlooks, it may slide, may be since the material is different it slides easier than your clear contacts. I would still talk to your doctor about it.

I have very dark brown eyes and they gave me most natural subtle look.
Can anyone please help me. There is so much information in these threads and it gets confusing. Basically, I'm looking for Solotica Lens that makes my eyes the most natural and subtle hazel, not green Would that be Solotica Natural Colors or Solotica Hidrocor? And what color? Or does anyone have any suggestions/experience? Also, which makes a more natural look? A smaller or bigger pupil hole? Thanks so much! |

Okay, enough whining, I'll try to make myself useful. For a more natural look, get lenses with small pupil holes. That way your natural color won't peek through a pupil hole that's too big. |

Yet, if they said that their lenses have a pupil diameter of 7 mm, would you know if that was a big pupil hole or not? I wouldn't. As for a less dramatic green Solotica lens, that's a bit of a judgement call. I think you would be the best judge of a less dramatic color. It would be easy to search for green Solotica lenses and see what you think. I bet you could even find some good pictures right here on Lens 101. |

Thanks! By less dramatic , I mean which brand offers that look as far as opaqueness. The more opaque, the less of my natural brown coming through, hence more dramtic? And less opaque means more of my natural brown coming through hence less dramatic?
Do I have that right??? |

I hear ya, nerd, but...having tried every colored lens sold at lens.com as well as Solotica lenses, there simply is no comparison. We're not talking about a slight improvement in appearance here. The Solotica's are significantly more natural looking and have much nicer colors. Even my eye doctor agreed, and she can't sell Soloticas! They're also a sturdier, annual lens, which some of us prefer over disposables. Lens.com no longer sells any annual colored lenses. I am very grateful for this forum, and if the American lens market ever comes back with a decent line of colored lenses, I will definitely shop at lens.com.

So what's so special about Solotica lenses anyway? Sure they come in pretty colors, but so do other lenses. |
