Default Well if doubling contacts is bad...

So many people got the perfect contact lens by doubling up on two in each eye. I've got much information saying this is bad but there is somethign i found called piggybacking which is putting two contacts in one eye for patients who have irregular eye shapes. Doesn't this do teh same thing to them too? I mean the 02 transfer is less. But why is it ok for them and not us? Does that mean it's ok to double up on contacts?

hey babes! As you may or may not remember I used to do this ALL the time!! I think its 100% safe. However, there is one compromise you must make when doubling up. That compromise is to wear the doubled up lenses in half of the time you would wear the single lens. Make sure to disinfect and clean then SEPARATELY, and store them SEPARATELY. When I doubled up the lenses the pupil hole would look smaller and the iris more compact and real looking. Give it a try for one day!! If you don't like it or if its uncomfortable go back to how you normally wear them.

That sounds like some pretty good advice to a non-professional like myself, but before anyone tries kashion's suggestion, check with your own eye doctor. Everyone's eyes are a little different and before you try something like this, it's best to consult a professional who knows your particular eyes.

That's good advice, Big Jim. I haven't heard of wearing two pairs of contacts at the same time, so I don't know how safe it is. It sounds kind of iffy to me.

You know, I wrote that post almost a year ago, and I guess I've grown wiser over the years. Well . . . year. Anyway, The tone of kashion's post just sounds so breezy and careless. "Hey! I did it! It didn't kill me so go ahead!"

I don't mean to be gruesome, but just remember, James Dean didn't crash his car the first few times he drove it . . .
