Default sterling grey colourblends

hiya hoping someone can help me. i bought the soflens platinum and loved the colour and change on my dark brown eyes but they gave me a cross eyed look as they didnt sit right on my pupil or cover my colour as they were small. the colourblends tend to fit me perfectly but would the sterling grey give me the same bright light effect on my eyes? i tried the grey and all it did was make my eyes lighter brown!! so disappointed.

Hey, i had the same problem with the softlens platinums and so tried the sterling greys

They give almost an identical colour, for myself it comes out slightly blue tinted but only a little bit. Was very impressed by them and they give as bright a colour as the soflens platinums

Default Can We See?

Would you mind putting some pictures up see we can get a better idea of what you're talking about? Kreak1, I would like to see the contacts that you were "very impressed" with.

Default Picture of me wearing freshlook colorblends in sterling grey

My natural eye color is a very dark brown, so dark u can barely discern the pupil from the iris. & these lenses are MAGICAL. They make ur eyes a very blue color indoors in dark lighting & if ur outdoors or in bright lighting they're this GORGEOUS sparkly silvery light blue color tht many people want & they look so natural, even without wearing any eye makeup, they're YOUR eyes!

here's a picture of me wearing them at a Prom: *sorry for the large file size!

Thanks for the picture, IceQueen. It's just the right size. I would consider a picture too big when it takes five minutes to load and five spins of my mouse wheel to scroll past it. Yours isn't that big. You look really great in that picture too. Especially your eyes.

Nice picture, IceQueen792. You look gorgeous, especially your eyes. Did your eyes get as many comments at your Prom as your green dress?

If I had a million dollars
I'd buy you a green dress
(But not a real green dress, that's cruel.)

Looking at your picture, IceQueen, the song by Barenaked Ladies leaps to mind.

I have to agree with the others that your eyes look beautiful in this picture. The contacts and the makeup really compliment each other. Do you still have the contacts? (Not the same pair, but the same kind?)

If I had a million dollars--I'd be rich.

Beautiful.

Is there anyone else out there who has used colored contact lenses for a special occasion like Prom or a wedding?

I just tried on the Sterling Gray lenses. Must say--they look a hell of lot better on IceQueen than me! Maybe 'cause she's about 20 years younger than me, and naturally gorgeous.

Well, I guess we can't all be gorgeous in contact lenses, and I bet you don't look as bad as you think. Have you asked your friends and family for their opinions? What kind of feedback have you gotten?

Well--I haven't actually gotten any feedback. I haven't worn them out due to the fact that they have the word "demo" printed on them. Also, I think my friends and family might be getting a little bored by my relentless quest to find the best colored lenses. This "obsession" is now strictly between me and you folks at lens101.

All righty then. How about a picture of Blue Cat with grey eyes (and no "demo" label)?

How come this has been a "relentless quest"? Can't you find contacts that you like?

Hmm, I'll see what I can do about the picture.

I'm getting more used to my Natural Touch Baby Blue lenses. At first I thought they were horrible, but after wearing them out in public and having no one run away from me screaming, I realize that they may not be so bad after all. But my "relentless quest" is to find the most natural looking lenses that can turn my dark brown eyes light blue, and still look reasonable when someone is looking at my eyes up close. The problem with the NT lenses is that they look really flat and have weird "lightning bolts" in them. They're great from a distance though. I'm thinking about Soloticas, but I don't like the fact that I can't get them in the US (in case I need to return them). I also don't have a lot of money, so I have to choose wisely. It's really helpful that there is so much information, advice, and opinion to be found at lens101, but at the same time, it can be overwhelming and a bit confusing.

Hi Blue Cat.

I can understand your frustration at trying to change the color of your dark brown eyes. It's a problem that has plagued mankind since . . . well, since Color Contact Lenses were invented.

How important is it to have contact lenses that look good up close? The majority of the people you come in contact with will probably not even look you in the eye, and if they do, they're going to stay a polite distance from you, so if the only reason you're not buying the Natural Touch contacts is because they don't look natural up close, you may want to re-consider.

I'm so glad to know that Lens 101 has been helpful to you. It really is a cool forum.

That's a very good point, Jubert. It's true that most people are going to keep their distance--unless there's a Special Someone in your life. The risk here is your partner not wanting you to change. Hopefully that won't happen, but it might.

Hopefully that Special Someone will say something like "You're perfect just the way you are, but if you'd like to try something different, I say go for it!"

That should cover the bases pretty well.
