Default "Moonlight" Contact Lenses

Someone said that they wanted contact lenses in a color called "Moonlight." What color is that, exactly? Sort of a bluish-gray, I'm guessing.

Sounds like they look like cat's eyes when a light hits them at night. contacts that glow in the dark would be cool!

They do actually make contact lenses that glow in the dark. If you want more information, check out the "novelty contact lenses" section here in Lens 101.

I don't think the "Moonlight" contacts glow, though.

"Moonlight" is a color option available for FreshLook Radiance contact lenses. As you can see it is a kind of bluish-gray, and no, it doesn't glow in the dark.

They also come in a color called "Eden" (on the right) which is almost identical to Moonlight. If you compare the two side by side, I think Eden has a touch of green to it, wouldn't you say?

I looked at these two pictures closely to see if I could see the difference. I don't know about other Lens 101 members, but to me these two colors look very, very similar. When I lean back and look at them from a distance of about two feet, (That's about 60 centimeters for all of you who have matured into the metric system.) the color difference becomes easier to see. Still, what's the point of having two colors so similar?

Why, yes, it is different. Maybe the website Frodo used has a mistake.

I'm reminded of the time a DJ on the radio played Queen's "Under Pressure" bass line right along with the bass from "Ice, Ice, Baby" by Vanilla Ice and challenged listeners to try and tell which was which. One caller accused the DJ of just hitting "replay." No such luck.

These days they call it "sampling."

I think the webmaster for those pictures may have hit "replay" so to speak.

Word to your mother.

Railfan, if I may?

I think the ZZ Top song you're referring to is called "Got Me Under Pressure." The first verse goes like this:

"She likes wearin' lipstick, she likes French cuisine
But she won't let me use my passion unless its in a limousine.

She got me under pressure,
She got me under pressure."

I'd better not quote much more.

The Queen song goes like this:

"Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure - that burns a building
down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out "

Queen got some help on this from David Bowie, as I recall. That's the one with the bass line that Vanilla Ice "borrowed."
