Hi all,
Im hoping someone here can help me.... Im looking for Elegance contact lenses made by Ciba Vision. I know they have been "remade" as Natural Touch by Coopervision, but Im not looking for those. Im specifically looking for Ciba Vision Elegance contacts.... They've been discontinued, but Im hoping someone knows where to find them. Theres 1 site available on the net which I came across... they're located in Portugal but only have 1 light blue available, thats it. Any ideas? |

I did a little checking around, since I'm not familiar with these contacts personally, and the only thing I found that matches your description are Elegance Opaques by Cooper Vision. From what I can see, these were not "remade as Natural Touch." CooperVision makes Vial Contact Lenses that they call "Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaque)." It's just two names for the same thing, like "pop" and "soda." So what you're asking in essence is "Where can I find some Soda? Everyone keeps trying to give me Pop, but I want Soda." Here's how Lens.com describes them: "Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaques) are disposable contact lenses manufactured by CooperVision. Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaques) are easy-to-handle, durable lenses that resist tearing and provide excellent visual acuity. These lenses are also known as Natural Touch Opaques and are shipped under this name. At 62% polymer (polymacon) 38% Water, Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaques) are available in Baby Blue, Aqua Seas, Sophisticated Blue, Willow Green, Sultry Gray and Hazel." Here's the website: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens280.asp I hope that helps. |

Hey bond,
Thanks for the response. However, I believe the Coopervision and the Ciba Vision's have a pretty big difference.... Ciba Vision elegance contact lenses (the ones discontinued) were hand printed... these other ones are a lower quality machine printed contacts. Using the analogy, Im asking for Pepsi, they're providing RC Cola ![]() |

RC ingredients: Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and/or sugar, caramel color, phosphoric acid, caffeine, natural flavors, gum acacia, citric acid. Pepsi ingredients: Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid, natural flavors. Very similar, but not identical. I did a Google search to see how often the contact lenses in question are listed as "Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaque)." They are listed that way most of the time, but I did find one site that said the Elegance Opaque has been discontinued and is no longer available. So maybe--to go back to the cola analogy--if somehow RC cola goes away, and I were to try to order RC on line, they might call it "RC (Pepsi)" as kind of a way of saying "We have RC . . . well, Pepsi, technically. There's no such thing as RC any more, but Pepsi is pretty close." What do you think, people of Lens 101? |

To shed some light on the confusion.....
Heres a good post: http://www.lens101.com/color-contact-lenses/1688-warning-about-natural-touch-lenses-being-sold-elegance.html Also, here is the petition reqesting cibavision elegances come back..... http://www.petitiononline.com/ciba2008/petition.html With all due honesty, I would have gave up on this long ago if they werent such great contacts. I have yet to see anything even come remotely close to them. I can easily tell when someone has contacts in.... with the CibaVision Elegance lenses, they were very well hidden and provided a beautiful color. |

Glancing over the names listed at this site, it didn't take me long to find "luchie pocock" listed twice, then names like "Jorge C" and "Jade", "Nancy", and "Ollie", as well as "Irina X." That last one would raise a red flag right away, as would "BRS." If you want to truly make a difference, there's a thread in here that has the URL of a contact form you can fill out on CIBA Vision's own web site. Here's the URL again: http://www.us.cibavision.com/contact_us.shtml Try that, and good luck. |

hi,

Is that what you're looking for, Hyru? |

Please let me know, I'm interested in Grey Elegance, will be able to pay with paypal
|
|
|||
|
So how did your friend wind up with 14 pairs of contact lenses in five different colors? How did he or she get prescriptions for all those?
|
|
|||
|
Well, good question, but the reality is that only in USA a prescription is needed to buy 0.00 power contacts. I come from Dominican Republic and as long as you can afford it you can buy all the contacts you want to own. I was very annoyed by the fact that I needed to pay over $100 to a doctor to write a prescription to be able to buy 0.00 power color contacts.

Autonation is right. Besides, me personally, I might buy some cheap baseball cards from someone on a forum like this, or maybe a book or a magazine, but I wouldn't buy anything valuable, like a car or a rare baseball card, and I wouldn't buy anything I would put in my body, like food or contact lenses. Too risky. You never know what kind of crazies lurk on the Internet, even on a cool site like this one. Be careful when you talk to strangers.

I agree, Walkaway. I wouldn't feel safe ordering contact lenses from an individual I didn't know.

Is it illegal to buy contact lenses without a prescription? I read a post earlier that said it's perfectly legal to buy contacts without an Rx. Does anyone know how true that is? How about in the United States, specifically, because I know that laws can be different in different countries.

Realizing this post is dated December 9, 2009 (now December 17, 2010) but today discover that both NATURAL TOUCH & CIBA VISION "ELEGANCE" have been DISCONTINUED.
Does ANYONE have any ideas where these can be purchased? I placed an order today but know it's going to come back "discontinued." I contacted CooperVision's Customer Service re: availability of Natural Touch--she suggested some distributors have purchased remaining stock but unable to locate. I'm hoping an International Distributor may have remaining stock in 8.7/14.0/0.00/"Sultry Grey." PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks. ggpgreer |

I can tell you what distributor have it, please send me a private email, I don't want to post it here since lens.com is the sponsor of this page.

Yes, like Earthshock said. Thank you for your restraint.

I tried to find something on line that would tell me what lens would be equivalent to either one of these lenses, but I didn't find anything.
