Hi! Long-time lurker... finally registered! So, I want to make the leap into color contacts, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me. I've only ever wore one brand of contacts prescribed to me, Focus disposables with 14.0 diameter and 8.8 BC...
I have brown eyes and I want to do blue/green contacts. Are the Natural Touch ones worth it? They seem to be the only ones in my size... Damn Acuvue with their 8.3 BC only.... |

I don't know very much about color contact lenses, but I just wanted to make sure someone said hello to you and welcomed you to lens.com. Natural Touch contact lenses are very popular. There are several posts about them here on Lens 101. Contact lenses with an 8.8 base curve and 14.0 diameter are: Focus 1-2 Week SoftColors . . . and that's about it. Natural Touch Opaque come in a diameter of 14.0, but a base curve of 8.7. That may be close enough, but you'll have to check with your eye doctor. I wish you well and I hope to hear back from you soon. |

You might just get away with a lens that has a base curve of maybe 8.6 or 8.7 or maybe and 8.9. It's my understanding that the base curve measurement isn't a very consistent one. You may have noticed that you may need a different base curve with a different brand, that's not unheard of. If you haven't done so already, ask your eye doctor if you can be fitted for the Natural Touch lenses. Let us know how this works out, okay? |
