Default Waicon Trikolor Hazel vs Gray for Dark Eyes

Hi Everyone, this thread is for those of you who own a pair of Waicon TriKolor contacts - I am looking to purchase a pair and am completely torn between the Gray or Hazel. I have a medium brown complexion (like Halle Berry skintone) with dark brown eyes. Looking for the color that looks the prettiest on me - any thoughts? if you have pics that'll be a plus - thanks again !

Hi PreciousW. Welcome to the Lens 101 club. Do you have a picture of yourself you can post? You gave a very good description, but many of us on Lens 101 are like kids--we want to see the pictures!

Without seeing pictures, I think I'd recommend the gray lenses. I couldn't find anybody with a Halle Berry complexion, but this girl sure is pretty, and she's modeling the gray TriKolrs.

Thanks for the warm welcome Mark! Good idea, I will be sure to upload a few photos of myself when i get home from work. And yes the grays looks awesome on her, however I'm a bit darker in complexion.

Also curious to see the hazels on people, I've seen tons of the gray color on people but no hazel.

Yes, I understand your frustration. I guess I'm more of an Alicia Keyes colour, but close enough. I went through the same thing and could only find one person with a similar skintone (the one on YouTube) who sported a honey/hazel pair of Waicon TriKolors. I wrote asking her which ones they were, honey or hazel but never got an answer. Later found out that they only come in honey, not hazel. So, I took the plunge and ordered the honey and I'm extremely pleased with them. Very subtle. The only people who know I'm wearing contacts are those who've known me forever. It even took my husband a couple of hours to figure it out Hope this helps.

oOo well that waicon hazel color looks gorgeous on you together with your skin tone. i ordered waicons in gray and green and cant wait!!! you know, you could totally rock the green waicons too and look just as natural as the hazel ones.

Thanks! Now I'm all excited for you. Be sure to post photos when yours arrive. Would love to see them on you. I'm almost tempted to completely lose my mind and get the grey ones just to watch my husband faint. It might prove to be too much for his heart

LOL Gurlllll, I'm totally gonna post a few pics when I get the Gray and Green Waicons lol, sOO excited, I ordered them from Daniel (who's awesome and more than helpful) and should be getting them in 3 or 4 weeks. You should get the gray lenses, but your husband might be worried with all the guys that r gonna be checking you out lol jk. Anyways, on everybody that I've seen the Gray waicons, it just makes them looks so exotic and different, so I'm pretty sure your husband will love it.

Daniel was wonderful to work with. He was incredibly patient and answered all my questions. They took 6 long weeks to reach me (I'm on the west coast). I must've been a sad sight hangin' out by the mailbox everyday looking like a kicked puppy whenever I'd seen the package from Argentina hadn't arrived lol!

Judging from the picture above, those honey colored lenses look pretty good. The angle is a little odd, but it doesn't change the way the contacts look. Thank you for your contribution.

I'm usually quite good about getting images in the correct position but unfortunately I'm compromised by the fact that this program is not Mac friendly, therefore it doesn't allow me to rotate said image. As for the Waicon lenses, I was going for subtlety and realism and this is the closest I've come.

PreciousW, is that a picture of you in your post, or did you find that picture on line? I say that because the lady in the picture is very beautiful, and I hope it's you wearing your Waicon TriKolor contacts.

I looked at this picture again and thought "What's that thing on the table in front of the model? Then I saw what looked like pearls and decided it was an oyster.

Hello marcy99. Welcome to Lens 101.

I find it interesting that you say that Solotica Ocre is very similar to FreshLook ColorBlends Pure Hazel. A lot of people on this forum seem to think that Solotica contact lenses are the Be All and End All of contacts.

I'm afraid I don't know very much about Waicon or Solotica lenses, except what I've read here. I thought Solotica lenses were made by the Waicon company, so I thought your question was like asking "Which is better, the Whopper or Burger King?"

Sorry I can't be of much help to you there.

Default Waicon Does Not Equal Solotica

I think they are two different manufacturers. I did a search for the keyword "Waicon" on a site that sells Soloticas, and didn't find anything, so I guess that strengthens my position.

Smile More pics please

I would love to see some pics of you all wearing these...

im so over these freshlooks.

i have dark brown skin and though non-contact wearers think my brown contacts are real simply b/c they're brown... others know since freshlook colorblends are so attainable and cheap (via walmart).

I REALLY wanted to wear Natural Touch but of course when I finally get my new prescription and tried ordering them last night, I find out that they are discontinued! Everywhere. which sux, I really wanted the natural touch!

So I've been doing some research and it seems waicon or solotica is the way to go, but I just need to see a few more pics of people in them to decide which color looks most natural on dark brown eyes.

If that's your picture I see there, then I can see why you're pleased. They look really good; very natural. I guess if you're going for "subtle" then you got some good lenses.

Wow, PreciousW, you made an incredibly good choice! Those Waicon greens look simply stunning on you, and totally natural. I'm guessing you're absolutely thrilled with the look you got. I think the grey would look nice on you too - did you ever get a pair of those? How is the comfort level with the Waicons?

BTW, your makeup looks amazing too. Thanks for sharing this with us. We don't see many photos on here of people with your coloring. It's so helpful for people trying to make a hard decision about which colors to try.

Thanks Shamrocker! Yes I love them, they are very comfy too. I didn't get the grays because I felt the greens actually came across as a nice subtle gray. And I do agree that not many people of my complexion post so I hope the photos are helpful

a monochromatic look is really in this year with a huge 80"s retro influence more so.

Hazel would give you that look...but ICE gray and violet would all look amazing.a soft light green would also look amazing too.

cool colors for a warm complexion.

What is a "monochromatic look" and how is it influenced by the 80s?
