Default Deciding on a Color

When you want to try color contact lenses, do you have a color in mind going in? If not, how do you decide what color contacts to get?

Opticians will usually let you try sample contacts (no prescription ones) in their office. Pick the one you like, and/or ask his/her opinion.

Hi Catt,

Do you wear color contacts? If you do, did you know what color you wanted when you walked into your doctor's office?

Yes I do - have been for a very long time. The very first pair of colored ones were green. Since then, I wear mainly blue or violet. I have always wanted blue eyes (my mother had them), so it was pretty much what color of blue (there are a few different ones) that I wanted. I sometimes wear blue topaz, however I am wearing Freshlook Colors - Violet in the pic shown below. As I have said, yes!!! they do look fake in this pic., but not so much in person - Really!!!!!

I think these look really good on you, Catt. I'm not an expert at spotting color contacts, and I suspect your average Joe or Jane on the Street isn't either. One dead giveaway is a ring of natural color around the pupil, and in this picture you really can't see it. I think you've got a winner.

I agree with nakedeyes on this one. At arm's length, which seems to be the distance from the camera to your eyes, the usual giveaways aren't so obvious. So if you want to keep your colored contacts a secret, no hugs and shake hands from as far away as possible.
