Default I wasted my money

I just ordered the Quartzo lenses and I should have researched them more before I ordered them. Although I have not received them yet, all the pictures that I have seen look entirely too fake. I also purchased the Hidrocharme Mel and I already have those. I do not like them. The color is too green, so much that it looks like it is glowing at times. Also, the pupil hole is entirely too big. It looks very unnatural because of that reason. The one positive thing that I will say about Solotica is that the dot matrix system that they use does blend very well. But they still need to work on their coloring and the pupil hole issue. If you have dark eye, the pupil hole looks HUGE. I have read a lot of good things about Solotica so before I give up on them I also ordered the Icemint-Cristal. I hope I like them because if not I just threw $350.00 down the drain for 3 pair of lenses. I currently wear Expressions Grey and although they look fake close up, they are very subtle and not so shocking of a color like the Quartzo lenses. One last thing, the Solotica lenses are not very comfortable compared to my Expression lenses. The Solotica dry out very fast and cause your eyes to get very tired. I find myself having to take them out and rinse them or use drops every couple of hours.

First of all, thank you monikpage for posting those pictures. They look really nice except that they look like they've been enlarged and some of the detail was lost, but they still look nice.

Troy, thank you for your honest assessment of your Solotica contacts. I've read some things about them here, but it was all positive. I'm glad you could balance it out a little bit.
I'm sorry they were uncomfortable for you, however. I'm glad the Expressions Grey worked out better for you. Do you wear the Expressions Colors or Expressions Accents?

Default Solotica Quartzo

I currently wear Expressions Grey for dark eyes. I received my Solotica Quartzo today and just as I read online, they look really fake. Not for any other reason than the color is too light and it looks like I have zombie eyes. Great for Halloween but not for everyday. I am still waiting for my Ice-mint Cristal and will update you when I get those. I still have hope for Solotica because there dot matix print is better than any other lens I have seen.

Not that Troy can't speak for him/herself, but only Expressions Colors has grey lenses; Expressions Accents only come in Aqua, Blue, Green, and Violet.

I read the posts above and it almost looked like you were trying to steal the compliment that Walkthisway gave to monikpage.

I'm glad you decided to make your "voice" heard on Lens 101. I hope you will continue to post your comments and questions here.

Good thing you explained. It looked for a moment like you were trying to steal monikpage's compliment.
I'm sure your contacts look beautiful to. Are you planning on posting a picture or two as well? You may want to try a flower in your hair. It seems to work for monikpage.

Hi thenia. It's nice to know that Lens 101 could help Solotica make a sale, even if their sponsor doesn't sell Soloticas.

Hello everyone.
Nice to read about lenses with such good feelings XD
I am a big fan of Solotica´s house, but I have to admit that these in particular are not to my taste. I love this name for their transparency, that makes them so so natural.
Pd.
Sorry for my "google english"

Well if they do than yes.
The thing is that they look great on every picture I saw, but i also read that they look better in pictures and fake in reality. And i can't decide between them and waicon trikolor grey ones. I know the pattern is more realistic on soloticas but i'm so scared that they will look fake and that the pupil hole will not be good centered. I saw that this lady sproutjps1 (her name on ytube ) has posted on this forum that she likes quartzo better but on her pics waicon looks less fake. i also saw this review "Solotica NC quartzo contact lens review " (firt one on list) and her color is more like the color of someones real eyes. Sry for long post and bad english.

Can you get some trial lenses from your eye doctor to take for a test drive?

Oh, and thanks for telling us that sproutjps1 has a presence on YouTube. She's posted some pictures here on Lens 101 and I saw some of them on You Tube. I just wish there were some moving pictures instead of a slide show. I'd like to see how the lenses look when she blinks and moves her eyes.

Did you get that, sproutjps1?

You're right. Jehf. For that kind of money you should get comfortable lenses. So what are you going to do next?

It would be nice to see a picture of you after all the posts you've made already. You're off to a good start.

As for your first comment, never just age gracefully as long as color contacts are an option.

Are you talking to monikpage? She does look very good in those contact lenses, but with that smile and her glossy black hair and freckles she'd look good no matter what color her eyes were.

I really want to like the Quartzo... but something about the pupil hole looks so fake. It's too perfect of a circle, then you see brown. It needs to be more feathered.

I am not sure if you posted for opinions, but I do not like them on you either. The color looks too pastel esque and quite honestly, when I opened up the last picture I kind of got scared.

Who scared you JayDub? Do you know how to quote people's posts when you respond to them? That makes a lot easier to understand your response.

I am actually a forum vet. Not here obviously, but I know how to use forums very well. And while I know you didn't mean to come off any less than informative/helpful--in no way meaning to insult my intelligence; I hope you do not take the following statement as such.

I thought it was clear since the only person who had multiple pictures was the OP. I referred to the 'last' photo. ALTHOUGH, after reading my post, I can see where it seemed a bit ambiguous.

My apologies. /TipsHat

So by "the last picture" you mean the bottom one in the stack of photos that monikpage submitted in the very first post? Where she's got her head tilted and she's wearing a white tank top? Now that you mention it, I can see her brown eyes showing through a little bit. It didn't scare me, though.

Do you know of any contact lenses that have that "feathered" effect that you mentioned?

I'm glad we got all that straightened out. Thanks for your patience, JayDub. I think Georgiaonmymind gave you the benefit of the doubt by asking you of you knew how to quote other posts rather than taking the time to explain it. That's how I would have handled it.

Good day.

Due to the size of the photo upon loading it, the color of the contacts with the flash and the closeup shot--it made her smile look creepy to me. Those crazy eyes mixed with the things I have stated startled me. I am not kidding nor trying to be mean. I just do not think that color is flattering on her. I expect the same honesty when I post my pictures on here.

Feathered pupil holes are ones such as the Hidrocharme Ice and Azul colors. it makes your natural color fade into the color of the contact so even the brown iris that widens and closes upon light is view-able and naturalistic.

Hello, I really really need some good advice. since I don't know how to post a new thread I decided to post this here. I have dark greenish eyes and I really want to make them brighter. I decided to go with the solotica's, but I don't know which color should i choose. I was thinking the crystal, topazio and quartzo from the NC lenses. please help

I think I can help you with posting a new thread, anyway. Since there's no section for Solotica lenses here, the Color Contact Lenses section was a good choice. Once you're in the right section, just go about halfway down the page and click on the blue button on the left side that says "New Thread." That way your question will be on the top of the page instead of the bottom.

I expect the same honesty when I post my pictures on here.

Feathered pupil holes are ones such as the Hidrocharme Ice and Azul colors. it makes your natural color fade into the color of the contact so even the brown iris that widens and closes upon light is view-able and naturalistic.
Yeah I guess monikpage's smile was a little too big, but I'm guessing she was nervous. She still looks good though. Especially when she wears a flower in her long, glossy, dark hair. You're beautiful, monikpage.

If I understood you correctly JayDub, a "feathered" pupil is like you said; there's a gradual transition from the contact lens color to the natural color, not a sharp border.

I tried finding a picture that illustrated this effect, but I didn't find anything useful.

Yeah, I've wasted more time on this forum looking for pictures that don't exist.

Of course, I didn't know they don't exist until after I've spent ten minutes looking . . .

Perhaps msourinho1 is reacting to monikpage's picture at the top of this thread.

Yeah, I'd say those lenses might qualify as "incredible."

No feathered pupil pictures, ay?

"Feathered pupil pictures." That's hard to say. Almost as hard as "rubber baby buggy bumpers."

Default Confused

About ten minutes ago, I ordered the solotica quartzo contacts.. I am full italian with tan skin and medium brown hair. I also have a fairly wide nose. Do you guys think the contacts will look weird? Thanks.

No, I think that could be a very cool look. I think light eyes on darker skin is extremely attractive. Quartzo is a great color. It seems to look good on most anybody! If you search for "quartzo" on this site or even Google Image or YouTube, you'll probably find some nice examples of people with darker coloring wearing them.

I hope you're happy with them.

I am still waiting for my Ice-mint Cristal and will update you when I get those. I still have hope for Solotica because there dot matix print is better than any other lens I have seen.

Hmmm I actually think Quartzos look better on darker skin tones, but people with lighter skin can wear them well too.

I think they look beautiful. I'm dark skinned and have a pair--sometimes I think they look okay (usually if I'm wearing makeup), other times I feel like they're too light....but your look beautiful!
