Bummer. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time.

I checked another website called Just Lenses. It looks like they're still selling Cooper Clear FW. Maybe you should try them: http://www.justlenses.com/lenses/lens-id277.asp
Or maybe you can call them first:

Wow, that's kind of harsh. They cancel your order and then say "let us know if we can be of further assistance. Happy day!"
I want to know why you were able to complete an order on lenses that that they don't have any more. I don't know that much about writing computer code, but how hard is it to put "Discontinued" next to the name of the lenses? If not that, maybe something that pops up and says "This brand has been discontinued" when you click on the icon or something.

I'm afraid I can't find anything on line that's comparable to Cooper Clear lenses. Have you found anything?

Been wearing CSI FW for over 20 yrs. Was shocked they were discontinued.

Fyi- I soak them in 'AO Sept' solution every night and rinse with Unisol.

Don't want to switch to daily disposable or weekly disposable lenses. The CSI FW has low water content at 38.5%. If my Rx is -6.00, 8.30 BC, and 13.8 DIA, which lenses should I consider trying (obviously I'll try them at Dr's office but want to be prepared to run options by him)??

Btw, initial research shows Purevision, Air Optix O2 Optix Custom (32% water), and Air Optix night/day (24% water) as possible options. I know I won't know what will be best until I try them on, but would appreciate recommendations- thanks in advance for any recommendations and info!

Do those lenses come in your size also, and your price range?

Posted in CSI FW forum an update. Essentially the ones I listed above don't have 8.3 BC which has been my size since I started 25+ yrs ago. Only one that fits the specs (8.3 BC and 13.8 DIA) is Purevision. The interesting thing is that PureVision only has 14 DIA and I think most co's are using 14 over 13.8.

Any other ideas for contacts w/ 8.3 BC and low water? Btw, at this point don't mind either daily vs. weekly vs. monthly but would prefer monthly than weekly- for those I would still soak at night as I do now (use AO Sept and rinse w/ Unisol).

Thanks in advance for any help/info.

Have you been to the eye doctor recently to make sure those parameters still fit you?

Update:

As mentioned above been wearing CSI FW (by Cilbavision) for 20+ yrs and found out they were discontinued in Jan so need to find new lense.

Went to OD this wk and tried Oasis and immediately developed dizzyness and head headache and not good vision in one of my eyes. He then had me try Air Optix Night and Day and had similar headache/dizzyness (saw 20/15 w/ them) but he told me to try them for rest of day and next day. On day #2 immedtiately had same symptoms upon putting them in in AM and got worse during day including some double vision and dryness later in day. By 4pm took them out. Tried Purevision 2 and felt similar. Now know can't wear silicone lenses.

Tried Coopervision XC and both Softens 38 both today and they didn't fit and Softlens dried up almost immediately. Have avg tear wetness in eyes (been tested). Tried Acuvue 2 and they felt better but won't know until I get correct pwr for one eye (waiting to get -6.00D one eye b/c they only had -5.75D)...hoping to try them this weekend as test run...wearing glasses to rest eyes today...OD also ordered Vertex, Biomedics 55 and Frequency for me to try next wk. Have heard Hydrasoft Custom Sphere are good.

Anyone successfully switched to above non-silicone from CSI FW (also a non-silicone lense)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Wow, it sure sounds like you're having a hard time to find contact lenses to replace your CSI FW lenses.

I did a Google search for any contact lenses that are 57% tetrafilcon A like the CSI lenses, and to my surprise, I found a website that listed seven of them.

Of course, there's more to contact lenses than the material they're made of, but this can be a starting point for your search. The seven lens brands are:

Cooper Toric
CV43 DW
CV43 FW
Preference Standard (Blue Box)
Preference Toric
Vantage Thin
Vantage Visitint

I hope that helps.

thx for the info...the material in CSI FW (and CSI DW) is called 'Crofilcon A" and it's 61.5% material- it's not made of tetrafilcon A...

very appreciated- any other ideas?

Where did you find that information? The Lens.com people may have to update their website.

I guess the vial would be the best place to find material information. Is that information on line someplace--besides here, I mean?

I would say that Lens.com has updated their website. Not only do they have the composition listed as 61.5% crofilcon A, but they also not that CSI FW lenses have been discontinued.

Speaking of updating, why are we talking about CSI FW contacts in the Cooper Clear FW section?
