Default Reading With Cooper Toric

Are you able to read with Cooper Toric as well as without contacts at all? Sometimes when you're new to contact lenses, they make the reading worse.

Hi I don't wear cooper, but I wear toric lenses and have that problem reading, as the distance scrip gets stronger, I can't see close up with contacts. when the contacts are off I see much better close up but far. It's a sorry trade off. It's so frusting, has anyone tried cooper toric multifocal lens? they are a bifocial toric, I am thinking of these to see if helps, i dont' see any other brands of lens that make a toric biofiocial

Hi jankoonu. Welcome to Lens 101. I just found this posting and it's now January 20. Are you able to read the fine print now? Do you still wear Cooper Toric lenses?

So you say you read better without your toric lenses, but you need the contacts to see far away, is that it?

Default contact for distance distort close up visoin

I am nearsighted so I need glasses or contact for distance, but as I age (now 44) I get see as well close up. when I have contacts on for distance I see great far away, but it begins to distort close up print like books, even mid lengh print like computer screen. To make matters worse having agstimatisim is even more difficult to correct and wear contacts for. I really hate wearing glasses and would like to continue to wear contacts, but I am worried as I age this is going to become harder. My doc did suggerst putting a par of "readers" or magnifier type over the counter glasses on when I read, I tried it briefly, not a big fan of it...That is why I was questioning if cooper multifocal toric would solve both problems of far and close up..any comments or help?

I've never tried multifocal toric contact lenses, but it sounds logical if you see things well far away with contacts but not so well close up that multifocals would be the way to go.
Some people are like that with glasses. They wear them when driving or watching TV, but they take them off to read and use the computer.

If you haven't done so already, give the multifocals a try. They correct your near vision and your distance vision, however, they fact that you have astigmatism too makes things a little more interesting. This is where Proclear Multifocal Toric lenses may come in handy.

I've been wearing these lenses in the strongest "add for close-up" in which this lenses are manufactured. I need a +3.00-3.25 to be able to read 10 pt. font. With my current scrip (+2.5), I do need readers for computer work (unless I hit the old command + keys), but I can read labels, go shopping, read a magazine in good light without readers on, read recipes while I'm cooking, etc. And since I cook so much, not having onions burn my eyes is worth the price of admission! But I digress: I think the lenses are wonderful. That being said, my astigmatism correction is fairly slight, as is my distance correction. But yeah, I do have to have readers around, but not all of the time.

Thanks HMBgal. It seems we haven't heard from you in a while. Good to know you're not letting your need for multifocal contact lenses keep you from the kitchen.

Hardly. Between my brand new espresso machine and grinder (I'm an espresso FREAK) and my hungry family, my lenses do not keep me out of the kitchen. I get surprised sometimes when I open a hot oven (makes my eyes feel really weird) and it's nice that they don't steam up over a boiling pot of pasta.

Careful, or you're going to have a lot of hungry forum members trying to figure out where you live.
