Default Costa Del Mar Riomar Sunglasses - Dig Those Green Lenses

Most of the sunglasses I see here on Lens 101 have either gray or brown lenses. These are green, which is a but unusual. Can anybody tell me the advantage of green lenses in your sunglasses? Will it help you with water sports, since Costa Del Mar sunglasses are most at home on the water?

    Hey there Momalina2.

There's a post somewhere here on Lens 101 I think, that explains the different functions of different color sunglasses. I remember gray just made things less dazzling, but maintained colors fidelity, while brown lenses increased the contrast between light and dark. I don't remember what green lenses were for though. Anyone else?

I'm not sure, but I think I read something since I posted this question that said that green lenses are "neutral" just like gray and help you see colors correctly.

By all means, correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say on the matter: "Gray and green lenses are considered neutral because they maintain true colors." Looks like you were right, Momalina2. Good work.

Thanks for backing me up, Comicbookguy.
