Goodness me. You posted this almost exactly a year ago. You're talking specifically about CSI FW contact lenses, right?

All soft lenses "cut like butter", meaning you have to keep your fingernails from touching them. Use a Q tip to remove from a well type case, don't pinch the lens with your nails, use the pads of your fingers. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips, cleyes. I hope marsie finds them useful.

I have a question about the Q-tip thing though. Won't the cotton fibers stick to the lenses if you use a Q-tip to handle them? They're useful for a lot of things, but I'm not sure they're good for handling contact lenses.

Maybe I'm wrong. You tell me.

How do yo remove a contact lens from the case using a Q-tip?

Here's a couple of freebies: The "Q" in "Q-tip" stands for "quality" and these cotton swabs were originally called "Baby Gays."

Seriously, check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotton_swab

Yup. "Baby Gays." Try going to the pharmacy and asking for those.

I don't know where cleyes got that little tidbit about plucking your contact lenses from their case with a Q-tip, but I couldn't find it anywhere on line.

Something called a DMV Soft Lens Handler may help.

"Removes, inserts and aids in manipulation of Soft Contact Lenses. Patented gripper pads aid in smoothly and safely removing even the most slippery soft contact lenses. Can NOT be used for Hard or Gas Permable Lenses."

Never tried it but it looks interesting.

Thanks lolasharee. I think I've seen a picture of that thing around here one time, but I don't think it was a demonstration. Just a picture of the tool itself. Thanks for adding that one.

I'm glad you found it useful, Nichobec. That's why I like to use illustrations when I can. They really help.
