I would not recommend wearing daily contact lens for more than one day. For one, being as thin and fragile as they are, they may change shape while you're wearing them, or even change shape to the point where they rip as you're handling them.
Also, they have a tendency to trap bacteria and debris.
The bottom line is that they were not designed to be worn for more than a few hours, so if you wear them longer than that, their weaknesses show up.
It's a little like trying to reuse paper plates. Just imagine serving a meal on a paper plate, and then trying to scrub it clean to serve another meal on it. It won't work. That doesn't mean that paper plates are bad or poorly designed, they're just not designed to be used more than once.
That also doesn't mean you won't get people that say "Aw, that paper plate thing is just a scam! You can use paper plates over and over again as long as they don't break. They just tell you to throw them away so they can sell more."
Such paranoia and cynicism is, of course, nonsense.
If you plan to wear your contacts more than once, buy the kind that was designed for that. There are lots to choose from.
Thanks for the good question, DianaR. I'm sure lots of people were wondering the same thing.
