Default Near Vision Advise please

Help. I am new to contacts. Had cataract surgery two months ago and now my mid vision and distance are very good. I still need correction for near vision (+2.50).

Tried two brands of contacts so far. Acuvue Moist MultiFocal gave me near vision, but not strong enough. I found I was squinting a lot. Doc said that one didn't have a stronger near vision, so now trying Biotrue ONEday Bausch+Lomb. The power is 0.00 with Hi (+2.50) for my near vision. Two days and I haven't noticed a difference with or without the contacts for near vision. My doc wants me to wear each trial contact for 2 weeks.

How many contacts did you try before you found one that was good? Am I expecting too much out of contacts to be able to read mail or my phone? The phone is big and I have increased the font.

PS, no problems with the comfort of contacts. I don't even know they are on my eyes.

I would advise trying SoftLens or SilkLens. I have used both so far with Hi (+4.0) for my near vision. I don't think you will find any problem with these two. Moreover, they are more comfortable than most of the other big brands. Though, I read that you are not uncomfortable with your current selections as well.
