Default Basic Cost Of Daily Contacts

I have never had daily contacts, or contacts at all for that matter.
What is the cost for dailies?
Is it worth it in the long run?

I really prefer lenses meant to be worn for more than one day, but that's because I am terribly old fashioned.

My husband has daily wear lenses and thinks they aren't anymore expensive than extended wear lenses.

I'm with Diana with this. I prefer contacts that can be worn for a long time as opposed to changing them daily. Maybe that's because I'm a little old fashioned too. But I do wonder if the prices are about the same. On one hand I would think that dailies are more expensive because there are more contacts.

Default Mine are about $300.00 a year plus exams

I went to daily disposables for a number of reasons and I did it so long ago I do not know how they compare in price.

I spend about $300.00 a year on the lenses (plus I always get a rebate besides). I don't have to buy any solutions. I get an annual eye exam and fitting that is a separate expense.

I like the convenience of not having daily regiments of contact lens care. I put in a new pair in the morning and take them out at night. If I lose a lens, it is no big deal. I am confident the cost of lost lenses is way less than the cost of solutions I'd need if I was cleaning other lenses. I think having a new pair every day is better for my eye health too as there is less chance for infection.

How about health insurance?

Does anyone here have a plan that pays for all or part of their costs involved with contact lenses?

I'm sure that some plans address this at least to a point. I know that health care plans are getting touchier too, as the boomers age.
