Default Ermenegildo Zegna SZ 3076 Sunglasses - Why SZ and Not EZ?

These sunglasses are called "SZ 3076." I'm taking a wild guess that the "Z" stands for "Zegna." If that's true, though, these would be EZ 3076 sunglasses instead of SZ 3076. So either I'm wrong about my initials theory, or else there's a bit of a story behind that "S." Who here knows about that "S"?

I don't know what to tell you yournamehere. I did a search, but no web site out there offers an explanation why their sunglasses' model numbers start with "SZ."

Maybe they didn't like the initials "EZ" because it sounds like "easy."

Hi all. New to the forum, long-time sunglasses enthusiast. Just to take a wild stab at this. The S may stand for Sunglasses. That just seems like the most logical answer. Hope this helps.

No. The SZ may stands for Sunglasses Zegna. Retail shops that carry several Zegna items may need to code different items based on what they actually are so for inventory management purposes it makes sense to code the items for what they are. I could be entirely off on this but this is just my best guess.

Your theory is intriguing. Do you know what other things Zegna makes besides sunglasses? If they also make bow ties, for example, would they be called BTZ?

Anyone?
