I remember someone showing me a "trick" you can do with two pairs of sunglasses. Hold one pair "side to side" like you would normally wear them. Hold the other pair "up and down" and then look through both glasses at the same time by putting on of the "up and down" lenses in top of the "side to side" lens. If they go totally black, they're polarized.
Is there another way that's easier to explain? ![]() |

I think I understand, but let's see if everyone else here understands how to test sunglasses for polarized lenses. Do we all get it, boys and girls?

Yes, the effect is something like this:
![]() It's like trying to see through two sets of Venetian blinds, one horizontal and one vertical, although this picture shows a lens held at the angle. You still can see the final result, though. |
