Why is the grey one so weird? It seems like all grey colored contacts have this inner ring of mustard yellow unless its some sort of enhancer

I think the green ones are the best on you. The blue is also a good color but is a lot more striking than the green.

It looks like all the contacts have the yellow inner ring. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. They all look good, though. Very little redness in the eyes.

Thats the only thing i hate about these lenses they have this yellow ring that makes them look ridiculous up close but the green and hazel arent as noticable.

I think that the Blue Topaz looks best on you. The others... doesn't work.

Personally I don't like this range. I have dark brown eyes on these DO NOT look nice at all; well that's if you want something that is noticably fake. If I had a choice between these & FL Colourblends, Colorblends will definitely be the better option.

Do you have Acuvue?

Hazel looks good too. Contacts don't have to be blue or green to look good.

I take it Natural Touch Colors are the right color and comfortable as well?

How did we get talking about Natural Touch in an Expressions thread?

Default Green Equals Gray

Looking at these pictures again, it seems that the green and the gray are very similar. Don't you think so?

Default Not Impressed

Hmmm . . . looking at these pictures again, I have to say I'm not wild about any of them. I guess I've seen a lot more colored contacts since I posted last time and I've seen how good colored contacts can look. I'm afraid none of these look all that fantastic.

I'm glad you didn't take offense at Fantasy Eyeland's post, eltonlani. I have to agree though, that the contacts in this thread are not the best I've seen.

You say you're going to try Soloticas next? Those are nice, but they're not available from Lens.com. In fact, I'm not entirely sure they're available to people in the US. I think I read that on this site somewhere. Are you sure you wouldn't want some nice FreshLook ColorBlends or Natural Touch or something?

you can buy soloticas at many diffrent web sites i just orderd mines from WR Lens. And im not gonna get offended when people judge me i knew thats what would happen by posting these pictures. The thing is i only posted so people can see how the lens look i havent seen any other pictures of them. And as for trying diffrent brands im sure if you look hard enough on this site you will see that i have tried them most brands and i have all freshloook colors, colorblends and opaques. But as of now i do like natural touch the best but well see when i get my soloticas.

I actually have these in green and am wearing them right now. They were my first colored contacts when I first started wearing colors 6 or so years ago, and i've actually gone back to them. Maybe they're not the best, but believe it or not I've had several people thinking they are my actual eyecolor... they look better at a distance. Here's a pic of them at a little bit of a distance...

Hi Lizzypoo. Nice to "see" you.

You're right, those contacts look really good from a casual distance. I think if you're going to post pictures of your contacts, it should be from a socially acceptable distance. If I were to see you at McDonald's one random evening, that is probably how you would look to me.
Have with with your green eyes.

She's looking kind of fancy for McDonald's, don't you think, nakedeyes?

The contacts look beautiful, Lizzypoo. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I'm glad you're here, Eltonlani, and that you're not opposed to trying different kinds of contact lenses. That gives us a chance to see all the different brand on you. I guess you're sort of our "volunteer guinea pig."

Here's how to order. Please have your credit card and prescription ready. Just call 1-800 LENS.COM; that's 1-800 LENS.COM (536-7266).

Call now!

(That's a real phone number, by the way. You can actually order contact lenses at that number.)

No. I haven't been online in a while. I've been busy lately. I tried two brands. One called Venus which has colors that look too fake but pretty. And one called Europa and these are more like freshlook colorblends. Freshlook is going to be discontinued eventually.

I've never heard of Venus or Europa, except in my geeky astronomy books. Are they from the US?

I just went to that visiondirect site and they're selling the Europa lenses for $19.99 for a box containing only two lenses. I've never heard of them, but the price is listed in US dollars, so I'm guessing they're available to American buyers.

I like the blue and the green. The other 2 look weird! They have a smaller pupil hole than the freshlook colourblends too.

They do look kind weird, Tiggs, you're right. I think it's just because of the extreme closeup, though. You won't have to look very far to see some much better pictures of Eltonlani in Lens 101.

Lol but you know what-the more I look at the grey with the yellow the more i'm coming round to it! It does in a way look very pretty with the yellow but maybe not too realistic but as you say Dragonslayer, maybe it's just too close. It's like marmite!
Does he have more pics?

Do you mean "you either love it or hate it"?

I tried Marmite courtesy of my Dutch college roommate.

I let him keep it . . .

Come on, just take a little taste. If you don't like it you don't have to eat any more. Haven't your mother and I always tried to teach you to try new things?

So have you come round to the point of ordering some contact lenses. Like the used car dealers say "What's it' gonna take to get you into a pair of Expressions Colors today?"

I rooted around the public profile, but I didn't see any pictures.

Try saving the picture to your computer and then inserting it in your next post.

Nope, still no picture there. Here are the instructions from Lens 101:

How do I attach a file to a post?

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

What files types can I use? How large can attachments be?

In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board.

How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.

Yeah, but between the light effect and your half-open eye, it's hard to see the grey lens. Can you post another picture so we can get a better look?

No, I didn't post any. I'll have to check back in my past albums to see if I have any pics. When I find them I'll post them.

I actually think I'm going to order Expressions in Blue. I just picked up my order of Freshlooks in Blue and was very disappointed. Not only are there spots that don't have the blue in it, but they are very uncomfortable. Going to try and trade them in for some regular clear and later on order the blue Expressions since they aren't too much more.

I'm sorry those blue FreshLooks lenses didn't work out for you. Hopefully the Expressions will give you a more satisfying experience.

What do you think ladies? Do you like the green-eyed unshaven look? Personally, I think his eyes look fine, but the facial expression is like "What are you looking at?"

I like the green ones. Both colors really look good, but I think the picture of the grey lenses is just a little on the cheesy side, with the solar flares and all.

Sure you can wear plastic lenses. (I think those fancy polymers with names like "methafilcon A" are plastic. Aren't they?) You certainly don't want to put a glass lens in your eye, unless you don't have a choice.

What made you decide that you wanted to try Expressions Colors?
