Default Focus Dailies Progressives Review

How do you like a daily progressive contact lens like Focus Dailies Progressives? Progressive contact lenses seem pretty complex for a daily disposable, don't you think?

Yeah, I would go ahead and switch to a monthly lens. They are much better in every way.

Really? Have you tried both? Would you mind being more specific than "much better in every way"? More comfortable, less expensive, easier to insert, all those? Anything else? They can't be easier to maintain because you don't have to clean the Focus Dailies, right?

When you say "Focus Dailies Sphere" do you mean Focus Dailies period, as in not Toric and not Progressives?

I am switching between Focus Dailies monovision sphere, and Purvision Multifocal lenses depending on what I am doing.

Hey, that's cool mgash. Do you use one for reading and the other for driving or something? Do you have specific tasks that you perform with a certain pair of contact lenses?

I put on multivision in the morning, wear them to work where, I teach classes for 3 hrs., then change to Focus Dailies (Regular), teach on the road in the afternoon, and when I get home, trash the Focus Dailies, and reinsert the Multi-vision till bed time, when I remove and clean them to start the next morning.

This sounds insane, since I am basically doubling my contact costs. But I am only wearing the first months sample. I have months of dailies at home, so I might as well wear them. After a visit to my Dr. next week I will decide which way to go. That depends on what his exam shows as far as vision is for both. I will either choose dailies and readers, or stay with multi-focal.

Wow, that sounds like kind of a complex routine. I hope you're able to simplify that a bit soon. Let us know which contacts you decide to keep, okay?

We haven't heard from psimonk for over a year on this. I wanted to know just what he meant by "much better in every way," but he seemed to have vanished. Perhaps he's back at his monastery chanting.

I don't wear multifocals anymore. Also, Purvision tore my cornya. Sticking with dailies.

It looks as though Psimonk is not in any hurry to answer your question, Columbia. I'd like to know about this myself. Monthly lenses are probably better than daily ones in some ways, but I doubt they're "much better in every way," otherwise the dailies would have become extinct, because who needs `em, right?

Yes, exactly. Natural selection in the contact lens world.

Right, because if monthly lenses are better in every way, then that would mean that daily lenses are not better in any way, right?

That would be a logical conclusion, Fresa.
