Default Same Base Curve and Diameter

I just read about a person who got a new pair of Focus Dalies. She said that one eye was okay, but the other was blurry.

The subject of base curves and diameters came up. I learned that most of the time a person has the same base curve and diameter in both eyes. Is that really true? I've heard all kinds of things about how if you measure carefully, the human body is not very symmetrical, whether it's arms, legs or eyes. Are there any eye care professionals out there who can tell me by their own experience if most people's eyes match or not?

The eye's are almost never identical as far as the curves go, but with soft lenses the ability of the lens to flex covers any slight inconsistencies of curvature. In most cases the eyes are very similar in curvature, however exactly isn't always the case.

Thank you for sharing your expertise, Harry. Have you checked out the sunglasses and eyeglasses sections here on Lens 101 yet?
