Was Peripheral Vision a Factor?

When you decided to get Frequency 55 Toric contacts, was one of the reasons you got them instead of glasses is so that you'd have good peripheral vision?

I have never thought about my peripheral vision with contacts, and my eye doctor has never mentioned peripheral vision issues with contacts. I assume that all contacts provide the same type of correction.

Am I missing out on something new?

When you wear glasses, of course the lenses are only in front of your eyes. So if you look to the side without turning your head then you can't see very well.
With contacts, when you move your eyes, the lenses move with them, so you still see just as clearly, up, down or side to side.

Right?
