Hi Everyone!
First time user of color contacts... I just started with Freshlook Colorblend green contacts and my vision is blurry, can someone tell me what's the matter? Is my vision or the contacts? Thanks have a nice day! |

I've read a lot about Freshlook colorblends, so I tried them for the first time over the weekend. I got the pure hazel colour as my eyes are very dark, the effect was amazing but my vision was very blurry! After about 5 minutes or so, I started to get a headache. If anyone has any idea as to why this might be, then I would love to know, because I really like the effect but I can't wear them, which is such a pity.

Hi There,
I know this forum is old, but I've been having the same issue for a year now. I have been getting replacements from Ciba Vision and every contact I receive had a Blind spot in them. I've tried to get them to pull the lot number but so far that hasn't happen so now the nerve in my right eye won't stop jumping. This has been a very frustrating situation. I've worn the Freshlook Brown color blends for over 4 years and have never had an issue. I thought by ordering a different color this would solve the problem but low and behold the same issue with the Autum. Has anyone else experience this recently? |

Back to the normal discussion: Normally I have no issues with the lenses, but a month ago I got this weird lens which made everything blurry. I checked to make sure it wasn't just me by using my glasses. In the end I just threw it away. =/ |

I use the pure hazel and everyone thinks that they are my natural eye color. I have dark brown eyes and they stand out so everyone is always asking me about the contacts when I finally tell them that they are not my real eye color and I slip out the contact. The Freshlook Colorblends contacts are addicting!!!

Well, since no one is offering any answers, just more problems, I'm going to guess that it has something to do with the pupil opening, something I alluded to at the beginning of this thread. Maybe the pupil opening is too small and when your natural pupil opens beyond the limits of the artificial ones, blurred vision is the result.
Do you think this can explain what the people in this thread are experiencing? |

I think it has to do with the fit except the person who is getting headaches I would go for a second opinion...
The basecurve on Freshlook is a 8.6 so sometimes the contact can feel to loose or to tight. 8.3 is way tight on my eyes for coloured contacts on normal contacts it is fine) and it feels like someone is squeezing my eye (Acuvue2 colour has a 8.3) BASE CURVE (BC) has to do with the shape of your eye and almost everyone has the same BC for both eyes. Many contact lenses come in only one base curve, many others in only two base curves, some come in multiple base curves so care must be taken when ordering. If your box or prescription says MEDIAN instead of a number for base curve and unless we have the word "Median" as a choice "Median" is usually BC 8.5, 8.6 or 8.7. |

I'm also surprised to read that color contacts fit differently from the clear ones. I didn't know that. It looks like you're new here, so allow me to welcome you to the Lens 101 community. Feel free to look around and help out with anything you can. Of course, you can come with your questions as well. Last edited by Slitheen; 01-28-2010 at 03:50 PM.. |

What did you to make the blurriness go away? Did you have to take them out, or just clean them or something?

But when I was in a hot climate area I would continue to put solution in and clean them but nothing worked once I stepped outside for a little. Horrible, I could not see a THING at night, and bright lights made it worse. |

However, from what I read on other posts on here, if your contacts are really shifting THAT much you might need to get the torric ones. They have weights in them that keep the contact in place. They are for astigmatism.
|

|
What if the person with the shifty contacts doesn't have astigmatism? Toric lenses have weights that keep the lenses from rotating. I don't think they'll help with shifting side to side or up and down.
|

|
That's right. Toric lenses are only for people who have astigmatism. If they are just near sighted or far sighted, toric lenses won't work. They won't rotate, but vision will be blurred. Besides, you can't get toric contact lenses without a prescription for them.

Hello Guys, my guess is that colored contact lenses have blurry visions on the sides of our sight due to the dyed/printed/colored area surrounding the hole in the centre. And sometimes it is also due to when we blink and the lens tries to re-adjust/re-centre on the eye. Anyways, the blurry vision don't really bothers me that much. There are only sometimes that it becomes blurry, I would usually blink until I could see clearly or alternatively massage your eyes (similar to the technique used when the lens has been inserted in the eyes and you are trying to remove the air bubbles).

If blinking a few times makes your blurred vision improve, could that mean that your eyes are dry?
|
|
|||
|
yes my friends.. this brand can make the eyes dry so be ready and pack up some lens drop or any irigation solution when you're out and about.

Thanks Slade. Are there any brands you would recommend? They don't have any eye drop company sponsors here, so you should be all right naming names.

This is a tough one, Slade. I tried Googling Clear Comfort Rewetting Drops and Opto-Pharm P2 and couldn't find the Clear Comfort at all and couldn't get a picture to post here of Opto-Pharm to post here to make sure I had the right product. You'd think a company with a web presence would make their sites more user friendly.

Here's a picture of the solutions, I'm currently using. The Clearcomfort, I use that when I'm out while the Opto-Pharm saline solution, I use it for rinsing my contacts lens before putting them in. The P2 I haven't tried that yet but the eye doctor told me that they came from Opto-Pharm too and they are good.
Well, I started using Clearcomfort when my eyes felt like they're dry while wearing colorblends colored contacts and there were also times I felt random discomfort. My All-In-One solution didn't help in keeping my contacts moisturized though it did say in the packaging. However, everything went normal when I started using the rinsing solution and it does made a good job in keeping the contacts moisturized for several hours. I'll let you know if the P2 multi-purpose solution is good. I'm still finishing my saline solution. ![]() |
