Default CIBA Vision’s FreshLook® ColorBlends® colors

CIBA Vision’s FreshLook ColorBlends® lenses use a special three-in-one color technology to create subtle, natural depths. Available in blue, honey, green, gray, brown, turquoise, amethyst and the latest additions—true sapphire and pure hazel, the three-in-one FreshLook ColorBlends technology allows you to change your eye color while maintaining a very natural look. FreshLook ColorBlends Toric lenses are also available for astigmatic patients.

For a more exciting, dramatic color change, FreshLook ColorBlends® lenses are available in four natural colors that give even the darkest eyes an alluring new look, even if your vision is perfect.

I have used colr contacts in the pst, and I found them to be ratehr unnatural looking.

Also, I am pale and have lt. blue/grey/green eyes. I used a free trial pair of brown tinted lenses and wow, I looked like the walking dead.

I think that you should try seagreen dimensions, they are so beautiful and work well with lighter coloured skin
They are so natural looking also.

I have dark brown eyes and normal skin.. would you go for the green colarblends or for the seagreen dimensions? I want it to look natural and I just want my eyes to pop. I don't want fake green eyes..
The diamensions are for lighter eyes and because I have dark eyes I thought I could better go for the green colorblends. What do you say? Thanks!

When I just looked at the pictures above, it was the Honey color that really "popped" for me. They may be just the thing for your dark brown eyes and it probably will look pretty genuine.

Post before and after pictures, okay Laura?

Oh ok, sorry I thought u had blue or green eyes. In that case I would say maybe try the turquoise colourblends. Dimensions are transparent and would show your natural eye colour underneath, I think the turquoise will give u a nice "pop" I have a picture of the turqs on brown eyes that I will post for you. I have used the green colourblends and didnt like them (I have brown eyes)

I like the limbal ring, but quite a bit of brown shows through. Can you get contacts with smaller pupil openings?

Thanks for all the help! I ordered the colorblends in green. Bcause I once had green lenses (FreshLook OneDayColor) and I loved that color! So I hope it's the same as the colorblends!
I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks but after that I will make a picture!

Am I mistaken? I thought I saw these very eyes/lenses in a Youtube clip showing Solotica lenses. It was entitled Solotica NC Branca. I did see some Colorblends-grey video clips there too however and they might be helpful.

The True Sapphire colour works best for me. My eyes are hazel, so I didn't think they would work as well as they did, but they look really natural.

I am actually thinking of buying colored contacts, but with your post, I am beginning to think. Anyway, is there a way to know if it will suit you without free trial?

Same here! I think either CB is stealing this as many people in English speaking countries are not marketed Soloticas or maybe people just have been misinformed.

That's a very cute pose, Soookie. (Is that really spelled with three Os?) Welcome to Lens 101. When I look at the picture, though, I see brown eyes. I guess it's not really close enough or light enough. That or maybe the colors just don't come through very well on my monitor.

Lens 101 community, what do you think of Soookie's grey FreshLook One Day contacts?

Yes, they look nice and natural. I guess the lighting makes yours a bit darker looking, but nice nonetheless.

Nice picture. The thing that I find most interesting is the way the color fades from gray to brown at the pupil. It's not a sharp change like you see in someone's natural eyes where the colored iris meets the pupil.

I don't see how you can tell if contact lenses will suit you without trying them. You could go to website like this one that have pictures, but the only way to really know how these will look in your eyes is to try them on.

well i think if you could get them with smaller pupils it would make it difficult to see in low light. wouldn't it?

Sorry. Star Wars Geek with a screen name of "Uhura." I need help!

Well, it might if the pupil holes were really teeny. Trouble is, when you look at the contacts under bright light to see if the true color shows through the pupil hole, the person's natural pupils will shrink. Is it unavoidable that your true color will show through the pupil hole of your FreshLook ColorBlends in bright light?

yes it is unavoidable under bright light. when i first started wearing colored contacts i could see the edges of the contact (colored part). so i would imagine that if the contact had a smaller pupil it would be difficult to see under low light. who knows?

Thanks for sharing your experience, I2I. It sounds like you don't have a problem with seeing the edges of the pupils any more. Does that mean you wear a different kind of contacts now, or have you gotten used to the same brand of color contacts. Were they FreshLook ColorBlends?

Firstly he can tell and so did I because we saw the video on youtube of the person promoting soloticas... and thats the SAME exact photo and person in the video. Also Soloticas are near enough the most realistic contacts aside from hand painted of course that are out there right now.
I was able to tell straight off as well that they were soloticas. Gorgeous none the less but NOT freshlook.

This is the second post I read (starting from the bottom) in this thread that says that the lenses that are supposedly FreshLook ColorBlends are, in fact, Solotica contact lenses. I can't tell the difference. The only way to really put this to rest would be for soookie<3 and Lollie to come forward and tell us what lenses you're modeling in this thread. I can't speak for eltonlani and the others, but whatever you say, I'll take your word for it.

Hi, Soookie's isnt the photo we're referring to it's lollie's pictures.(at least for me) I agree I just want them to double confirm but if you go on youtube and search solotica lenses you'll see what we are referring too. Freshlooks have a bit of a different dot pattern and are more spread out in comparison to the soloticas, making soloticas look extremely realistic. (the one's lollie has posted) Also I dont think Lollie will come back and declare the correct brand in the photos she's provided as her last log in was back in 05-25-2009

I was able to tell straight off as well that they were soloticas. Gorgeous none the less but NOT freshlook.
Nice detective work there. ILuvRick. You're probably right.

So the contacts that were in the YouTube videos looked too good to be FreshLook? The people that make FreshLook lenses aren't going to be happy to read that.

Do you realize that as of late July of 2010, this thread had been viewed over 10,000 times? That's pretty awesome.

Four natural colors? How come I saw nine at the top of this thread?

Previous posters are right- those are Soloticas (in Azul) in the picture above. I've seen that same picture a lot on the web the past few days, which is how I can be sure.

I've seen up-close pictures of FreshLook and Soloticas, and both have the same dotted look. From further away, both look bright and amazing! I believe they're comparable. The major difference is that Soloticas last for about a year and FreshLook contacts don't. However, you also have to have the Soloticas shipped from Brazil (major downside).

I LOVE the look of both the ColorBlends AND the Soloticas, though! I've got the Brilliant Blue (ColorBlends) on the way and I'm sooooo excited! I'm going to get the Soloticas in Azul next. One can never have too many pretty contact lenses.

Is it just me, or does that symbol next to the exclamation point look like a cross and a fish?

You're right, it does look like a cross and a fish. Is that Chinese? I did a bit of a search and it doesn't seem to correspond to the Chinese characters for "congratulations" or "ten thousand."

hi... im also at a crossroad...
Ive been usung durasoft compliments for years but now im a bit pressed to change or find an alternative since Durasoft , once the leader in Colored years ago, (and a company of Ciba, same as Freshlook) may soon dissappear.... I have been told how unusually realistic the color of durasoft is and i have over the years constantly compared it to freshlook .... The palette is different... theres something very natural about its composition even if freshlook has a Colorblends collection.....

It is sooooo very much more natural looking than frshlook somehow....... Is there an equivalent to durasofts compliments line in Freshlook?
(not the colorblends with the black outer rim)

Durasoft can still be ordered but its getteing harder and freshlook seems to be all the rage.. Ever the man on Youtube demonstrating colored lenses says freshlook is the leader in colored contacts

Anybody's input or advice is most wellcome

Thanks

Hi titus

I did a search and I found a site that said "Find products similar to Durasoft 3 Colorblends Contact Lenses" and they listed Air OptixAqua as being similar.

Of course, the site also listed Johnson's Baby Oil and California Baby Diaper Area Wash as being similar . . .

It may not be the most helpful answer, but it's all I could find.

hi Frodo thanks for your reply........Well ive looked around on the web and even when i inquire in opticals shops i keep getting info that Durasoft is being phased out or ordered less and less......and as i researched on the web its kinda harder to find durasoft.. Sorry i cant remember where but i read in one forum or post where someone said Durasoft is the dinasaur of the contacts world... i know people always have to keep up with the times (like changing your typically incandecent bulbs which have been around since Edisson invented them, to the low watt energy saver bulbs ...and eventually to LED bubs one day.... who knows whats after that...)

the point is i guess i eventually would also have to switch to Freshlook as it is more available or accessable and i guess the leader in contacts

(so they say)

However i can't seem to see or find a line in freshlook similar to the compliments line in Durasoft.. The colorblends has this dark outer ring which i have always found weird .. i tried it once and i kinda freaked out....even if the beautiful CNN reporter Ralitsa Vassileva has such dark rims in her dazzling tantalizing real blue eyes

Ill try again to look in the optical shops to see if they have something similar ......Or better yet i'll bring my old durasoft compliments with me so i can show it to the optometrist so they can look for something similar to it in their store..

btw i found this chart but its not really as close to the catalogue i once had of durasoft with a detail of the compliments line complex make up structure that gives it such depth

http://www.colormecontacts.com/durasoft.htm

i use the compliments green, extended wear.. simple. elegant, natural, and oh so realistic

i feel that, as the availability dictates, i must eventually resigned myself oneday to freshlook ...

"Four natural colors"? I count nine colors here nateboy:
1. Blue
2. Honey
3. Green
4. Gray
5. Brown
6. Turquoise
7. True Sapphire
8. Amethyst
9. Pure Hazel

Maybe five of them are unnatural.

I like that "True Sapphire" color. Beware of imitations.

Oh, you're a riot, Hogwartz. A regular riot.

Is there anyone on this fancy Internet board old enough to remember The Honeymooners, even in reruns?

Perhaps FreshLook ColorBlends have advanced since NateBoy last looked. I haven't heard from him in a while.
