Default Do You Think ColorBlends Look Natural?

FreshLook Color Blends make a big deal out of the fact they their contacts are a colored by a mixture of three different colors.

Do you think they look more realistic than other contacts?

"They look much more natural. "

I'm glad you think so, colored toric. Do you wear colored torics, as your screen name gently implies?

I agree - The lenses in the photo above look quite natural to me, and the overall effect is very attractive.

I'd say those are a great choice for the lady.

Yes indeed. They both look great, although I almost didn't see the blue-eyed blonde . . . and how many people can say that?

after trying Acuvue 2 colour contacts I must say the colourblends look more natural...Keep in mind most colour contacts will not look 100% natural but the Acuvue 2 colour contacts look very solid and make you look like an alien.

Thanks for the review. It's always nice to hear from someone who actually wears the kind of contacts you're asking about.

As for your last statement, how do you know what an alien looks like . . . ?

Eek! Isn't that Diana from "V"?

Garfield said it already, but I also want to thank you for the contact lens review, itgirl. I agree it's always good to get a first-person account of wearing a particular pair of contact lenses. Keep up the good work everyone!

wow, the pic looks amazing. Great job on the makeup. I am in love w Freshlooks now(although i know Waicon and Solotica r very nice too). I stumbled on them while searching on-line. Only reason I got them was since they were inexpensive! but so glad i did since hated Acuvues. Why dont these US based companies work on giving us better colors like European companies do.

I have natural light to medium blue/green eyes with spots of hazel around the pupils. So far, the colorblends brown, blue and green all look good, and yes, natural. I did not like the caribbean aqua though, they didn't look good on my eyes.

Yeah, that big picture of the girl with the plaid shirt on has that see-through "watermark" label, so I doubt it's a picture of then person who added the post. She's probably a professional model.

Hi Cousin. Here is a pic of all my colorblends. Top is caribbean aqua (which I hate), my natural color, then honey, then blue, then green, then brown and to the right is hazel. I have taken better pictures since this once, but they are all in separate files. In person, they look totally natural. the hazel doesn't look so good in this pic, but I have posted a separate pic of the hazel, which looks great in person, much more light brownish than in this picture I want to try gray next.

You're right, the Hazel looks great. Looking forward to seeing those gray lenses.

i think colorblends are more natural on people with light brown eyes or lighter eyes in general.

a person with dark brown eyes, or black eyes like many asians have... they dont look more natural. the acuvue 2 does though b/c its one shade-- its very fresh looking, and actually give the eyes a sparkly fresh look, and enhances the eye by bringing out the layers.

ive worn both the acuvue 2 brown and freshlooks brown, as well as the acuvue 2 hazel and freshlooks hazel... and the acuvue 2 always look best on me and they are undoubtedly the most natural to people. but they just dont fit correctly-- at all. whoever created acuvue 2 is an idiot for not having more than one dia.

its very hard to see the colored layers in a person who has dark brown or black eyes, but somehow acuvue 2 brings it out.... but most people cant wear them b/c of the size restrictions.

but if you have a light brown/hazel/or greenish colored eyes freshlooks absolutely looks natural on you. they look great on the hispanic/korean (im not sure) girl above.

with all that said... most people think freshlooks (brown) look natural on me and are my real eye color, lol... unless they know contacts. ever since walmart opened their little eye center more people have been experimenting with colored contacts, so a little more people may be able to point out freshlooks since they're relatively inexpensive.

To me any contact lenses wqho have more than one colour look terribly fake. you cannot have an iris pattern ON TOP of your eye lens, the real iris is supposed to be behind the lens like natural eyes.

The most natural looking coloured lenses are solotica hidrocor, for the reasont that they are semi opague, they have a dot pattern that puts one dot of colour and one dot left transparent so as to blend with the eye, and at the same time they only have one colour. So the real iris pattern of your eye still shows but is colour-lifted. And thus when you look the eyes from different angle you see the real iris not some lizard-eye contact lens iris.

And those face-frontal photos here cannot be taken so seriously, if you look from the sides the opague and multicoloured lenses look indeed like reptile eyes that pop out.

Well, since I have light eyes but a natural goldish looking ring around both eyes with some dark spots, colorblends are THE perfect colored lens for me. In fact, I was wearing clear the other day, and my husband said that my "brown" is showing through. LOL. So colorblends fit my eyes perfectly, and I know there are others out there who they fit perfectly too. It's a good thing there are many brands of colored contacts out there, so that we can all have colors/varieties that look good on our eyes.

That little green guy is adorable. I wish I looked that cute, lol. But honestly, I definitely do NOT look reptile-like in flcb's. I look more like a reptile WITHOUT them, but definitely not as cute as the lizard above.

I dunno. Those orange eyes and the way he's got his mouth open is a little unsettling.

I remember someone explaining to Bill Nye the Science Guy that a cobra spreads its hood in order to look big and scary. "It's very effective," said Bill.

That's a very colorful animal. I've had American chameleons as pets, but they're pretty much just green or brown. The males have a bright red throat pouch.

i realized its not about pale skin... its about your natural eye color.
i have a good amount of asian friends (japanese, chinese, korean) who wear these (all of whom have almost black eyes) and they do NOT look good on them, they look terribly fake.

if you have dark brown eyes-- brown freshlooks is really the only color for you.
if you have black eyes, this brand isn't for you at all.

i think they look best on people with very light brown eyes.

certain colors look good on blue and green eyes.

Default my experience with colorblends

I have medium brown eyes and got the Hazel ones, they looked horribly fake. It was completely obvious that they weren't real because the contacts had that pop-out effect (where the iris looks like it was painted on over the eye and looks way closer than the rest of the eyeball) I hated them. Not to mention they were unbelievably uncomfortable, hard to put in, and every time I looked in a different direction this huge blob would appear (caused by the colored part of the contact moving in front of the pupil). Needless to say I will never buy them again.

However, there was this one girl at work who has dark brown eyes and wore gray colored ones. They looked pretty natural on her and she never complained about discomfort. (People always gave her compliments on her eyes.)

But for all of the other people who I know that wear them (all who have dark to medium brown eyes), they looked extremely fake. And they bought all different types of colors (light brown, blue, gray, green, etc.) They all ended up buying one box of each color to give them a try and never bought them again after that.

So I'd advise that if you have dark-medium brown eyes and want natural looking colors, you should invest in a brand tailored more to dark eyes, like solotica.

Tell them to buy their contacts at Lens.com, if you're not doing that already. You can get them for as low as $26.99 a box.
