Okay..won't lie..the reason I am wondering this is because..when I spend the night with a guy I fall asleep with my contacts in. Will this cause a major problem with my eye? All that happens is sometimes when I wake up they feel dry.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but this question has never been asked on Lens 101 before. *Ahem* FreshLook ColorBlends are monthly contact lenses, so wearing them for one night probably won't hurt, but just to be sure, you may want to ask your eye doctor if this is okay in your particular case. Just . . . you don't have to mention why you fall asleep in your contacts sometimes. You may also want to carry your contact lens case and some solution with you . . . just in case. I don't suppose it would help to suggest that you go home at night . . . |

LMAO! I knoww but I HAD to ask, because I wear my contacts ALL the time, so a lot of guys I meet actually THINK they are my natural eyes lmao.
It would be embaressing to take them out. Lmao and good idea, I SHOULD go home at night, lmaoo. |

You'll notice that 95% of the responses to the questions here on Lens 101 are respectful. It's pretty rare to read something here like "Why are your eyes burning? Because you're an idiot!" |

You're a good sport, Peezdispenser89. I think that most of the people here on Lens 101 are pretty tolerant. It's really hard communicating via keyboard and monitor sometimes. I think a lot of times there can be a big misunderstanding just because someone couldn't type out their tone of voice. Thanks for understanding.

Speaking of which, I spent the night with a guy too, but he is the only one, and we were serious by then, but he is now my husband, lol. Anyway, back in those days, I DID sleep with my contacts in all the time. Now that I am married to him, I take them out at night and keep the solution right by the bed. BTW, I have severe dry eye now, and the doc says it was made worse by wearing contacts at night. If I knew then what I know now, I would have had the solution ready in the lens case, and slipped the contacts off once the lights were out, then slipped them back in first thing in the a.m., so as not to blow my cover, lol. So once in a while, it's okay, but don't do it on a regular basis. And always keep rewetting drops handy.

It's funny, but my husband doesn't really NOTICE eye color. But I have been wearing all different colors now, and when I ask him how they look, he says "very nice", and goes back to what he was doing. He just says I have one of those mixed eye colors, lol.

Does anyone else find it odd that women (and probably men, too, but there doesn't seem to be any men contributing to this thread) are willing to "be intimate" with someone, but *Gasp!* "I can't let them know I wear contact lenses!"?

Woah before you start poking fun at us and finding it funny, you should know that some people have image issues. I can't even walk out of the house without my contacts in to step into my backyard. So maybe you should keep your mouth shut (Or refrain yourself from typing haha). If you have no problem with showing someone that you have image issues and need to cover your natural color with contacts then, awesome job? Lmao -claps- lmaoo.

But men like my husband are clueless when it comes to eye color and fashion. God bless 'em, because in my case, that's a good thing. I'm actually going to wear clear contacts one day, and ask him if he likes "this color", and tell him it's a special blue/green blend. Then when I don't have any in, he will just think I am wearing that color. Yes, it takes a sneak!

I'm reminded of the mermaid movie "Splash." After the mermaid had had a wild night with Tom Hanks, she didn't want him to see her in her "natural" state with the tail while she was taking a bath. When she locked herself in the bathroom and wouldn't let him in until her legs had reappeared he became very concerned. When he finally burst through the door, he asked her why she wouldn't let him in and she said "I was . . . shy." He found it very odd that she had suddenly become "shy" after they had spent the night together. Do you see what I'm saying? I don't think anyone was mocking your "image issues." |

You can sleep with your contacts on, but becuase they absorb water your eyes will tend to get dry so splash some water on them before blinking again normally, i mean just take a minute to wet them and do not attempt to just get up and ignore that they feel dry becuase the chances are the contact themselves may be dragged by your upper eye lid into the back of your eyes!
Sounds crazy but it happens, when it does do not be alarmed but again put allot of water in your eyes this time and try to open and close them until the contact falls out (over the sink), it normally will come out the first attempt., contacts are a phenomenon becuase you can splash water on them while they are perfectly on the center of your eyes but if they move around the back where they make contact with the eye lids they will tend to either go back to the center themselves or fold and fall out from the water you add to flush them. Sorry for the graphic details but i intended to describe this in a matter to give people confidence that they can rest assure it is possible and the eyes also will not get damaged, but be sure you do not have them on more then 8 hours straight if you can avoid it., take a break for 5 minutes at least, headaches is all you will experience., this was from a eye doctor. |

It's interesting that I found this thread again today. I was just noticing this morning how people on the sidewalk are so afraid to make eye contact. It's not like I was sitting there with a cup in my hand for donations. I think I looked fairly presentable. Why were people so afraid to look me in the eye?

I also want to make it clear that as long as your eyes have a normal structure, it's impossible for them to wind up behind your eyeball, out of reach. I think you already know this, but I just don't want readers to misunderstand when you said "they move around back." Finally, I think eye drops are probably a better idea than splashing water in your eyes from the sink. Eye drops are sterile as long as nothing touches the tip of the bottle, and the action is gentler than splashing and less likely to dislodge a contact lens. |

eye drops where exactly what i needed i think, but learning about possible dangers is always welcomed, my contacts did roll into the back of my eyes, went up and where gone, a friend tried it on purpose after i told him its no problem to get them out using water, he says his normal contacts dont do it but this happened so far with freshlook contacts, assuming that they are so thin, his also came out with water as i said., the chances of it happening are so rare and yet easy if one sleeps with his or her contacts on.

So let me understand...
Peez had a legit question, Lucyfur saw fit to judge her, then ziggy apoligized for premarital sex with her own husband. This is my first post. I am not a youngster who seeks approval so nuf said. |

Well here is my negative experience with sleeping with freshlook color contacts, just over the last night i happen to fall asleep with my color contacts while traveling, i totally pasted out in my seat, 5 hours, and when i woke up my left eye was almost stuck,
I concluded that the left color contact was going on me, its been a few weeks i had them on and one day i remember finding that left contact in the contact case stuck to the cap, you know they dry up so been that it was like this for about a few hours i figured its fine, but i did notice it was a tid blury, so if i can speak from my experience alone on this one i do think its dangerous now, i put drops in my left eye but had to sleep a few hours until i had no more pain, it hurt like as if their was a over sized contact when i blinked, so as far as i am concerned i would avoid sleeping with contacts more then a week old, when the contacts are wearing out, i doubt you want this problem i had, i was scared cause it took hours to stop hurting, plus it was blury from my left eye for a hour. |

Sorry to hear about your problems with the ColorBlends. You said you fell asleep in your seat while you were traveling. Were you on an airplane? You then said that you would avoid sleeping in contacts more than a week old. That's probably true for FreshLook ColorBlends. If you sleep in them they only last a week. If you take them out at night they can last two weeks, or so I'm told. Check with your doctor to be sure. I hope you feel better and continue to post here. |

I feel normal now thank you for asking, i do have good eyes, i can see very clear but some times it is blurry just after trying color contact lenses, i wonder if at some point in time if i will end up bad eyes, so i guess everyone is asking when exactly should one tellll it has been 2 weeks, down to the hour.

I looked at her original question and Lucyfur's response was not judgmental, in my opinion. He or she never said "What you did was wrong, you should be a shamed of yourself." The reply could almost be called respectful, if not for that zinger at the end. The way Peezdispenser89 phrased her question invited comment, and I think she fully expected that. Reading some of her further posts, it doesn't seem like she feels "judged." Maybe she will thank you for defending her, though. Stick around. Do you have an answer for her "legit question" by the way? |

For what's it's worth, it doesn't seem to me that "Peez" was offended by the way her question was answered. There were some comments on her lifestyle choices, but they were all made in a respectful or teasing way. She played right along and seemed to be having a good time.
