Default How long do they last ? & Wrong prescription ?

I've recently got a prescription for proclear contacts. & I thought all contacts were the same, so I just got fresh look colorblends. They fit, but it feels weird, not annoying but weird & the sides are blurry/foggy. Should I return them & get a color contact prescription or keep it? Is that how color contacts should be? & How long does these freshlook's last ?

Wow. It's hard to find information on line about how long you can wear color contacts. They'll tell you how beautiful and comfortable they are, but not how long they last. I finally found a site that says that these are 1-2 week disposable colored contact lenses. They will last a week if you wear them 24/7 and two weeks if you take them out at night.

Tell me, xxllznkid, have you worn contact lenses before? If not, they will probably feel "weird" for a while until you get used to them. If you are a contact lens veteran, how do they feel different from contacts you've worn before?

The fogginess you are experiencing on the sides maybe due to a small pupil hole and you're seeing the colored iris part.

How did you get ColorBlends with a prescription for Proclear? That's theoretically impossible.

Well I've had pro clears for about a month? But that's it. Then finally when I got my prescription, I tried to order color contacts. The website told me they were doing some RX Process ? Which was basically trying to contact my doctor to confirm my prescription. Doctor didn't reply in 8 hours so they went ahead & shipped it. Is the fogginess normal? I didn't have it for the proclears

It always amazes me when contact lens companies call the doctor's office and if they hear nothing from the doctor for x amount of time (Usually less than 24 hours.) they go ahead and ship these medical devices anyway.

Isn't that a little like knocking on someone's door, waiting a few minutes and after you get no answer, you climb in the window?

clear contact lenses and colored contacts have different measurements regardless of how similar they can be.

Sorry for asking so much, but I've went ahead & started to try these colors out for a week. I've been wearing them for 2 days now, It seems to get clear-er as the days progress. I guess i'm getting used to them, but is it harmful in anyway to wear wrong measured contacts ?

If by "wrong measured" you mean "the wrong size" yes, it will cause damage. If they're too small they can compress your corneas and leave them misshapen or, worst case scenario, deprive your corneas of oxygen. If they're too big, they'll slide around your eyes. That's not really "harmful" per se, but it's not fun. I suppose they could scratch your cornea as they slide around, but I don't think that's very likely.

Why would you want to wear the wrong size contact lenses anyway? I hope you're not actually doing that. It's easy to get fitted properly.

You can ask anything you'd like to know about contacts here. Anyway, I think it's best for you to consult your eye practioner regarding the measurements for colored contacts because even if colored contacts have the same measurement with clear contacts, they differ.

However, there are some people I know tends to buy colored contacts directly because they already know the power of the lenses suitable for their eye and the also the measurement (Base Curve, Diameter, etc.).

Hi Slade. This seems to be the thread of "what do you mean by that?" When you say "buy colored contacts directly" does that mean "without a prescription?"

You have five boxes of contact lenses that are the wrong size? If the boxes are still factory sealed and your eye doctor will not take them back, then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe try a new eye doctor?

So you didn't know you had five boxes of the wrong size until you opened one of the boxes, or did you look at the label an see different numbers than you expected?

Yea, Lucyfur. That does seem rather odd that xxllznkid has five boxes of the wrong size. You'd think that the eye doctor would only sell one box until everyone was satisfied that these are the proper lenses.

Yes, you would think. I''m sure there's a logical explanation, though.

(I'll try again.) When you say some people "tend to buy color contacts directly because they already know the power of the lenses suitable for their eye and the also the measurement (Base Curve, Diameter, etc.)" does that mean they buy their contact lenses without getting a prescription from their eye doctor?
