Default Contacts Negative/Positive effects?

Hello.
I am wanting to do the switch between eyeglasses, which I have had for almost 7 years, to contact lenses. I have pretty bad eyesight. I'm nearsighted and farsighted.
I work at a computer for about 10 hours a day (school + work) and was wondering if I should look into a certain type of contact lenses for that reasoning. How would that situation affect me having contacts? Negative or positive? I absolutely hate glasses, and would love to switch.

Thanks.

There are different set of advantages and disadvantages of different lens types. However, some of the common advantages of wearing soft lenses are:

Advantages:

1. Much easy to carry or handle than glasses. An excellent choice if you have an active lifestyle.
2. Excellent improvement in vision

Disadvantages:

1. Debris and dust particles can get under lenses by using them multiple times. Thus, may cause allergies and erection.
2. Some extended wear lenses that are available for overnight sleep may increase risk of complications.
