Every time I put my contacts in, my eyes start irritating me and it won't go away. I am sure Ive done everything I'm supposed to! Are you supposed to wait until your hands dry after you wash them before putting contacts in? And was I supposed to be fitted for contacts? Because they just gave me a pair with my prescription. I don't know what's wrong!

Hi, I am very surprised that any optician just gave you your lens with out any kind of trial fitting. Not every kind and size suits every one. When I first got mine they made me practise putting them in and out whilst I was in the store, told me to wear them for just an hour or so each day and build up to 10 or 12 hours over a week. Then I went back a week or so later for an exam to make sure they fit properly and moved over my eye etc. What kind of lens are you wearing? Maybe another brand would suit you better and stop the irritation. Proclear are extremely comfortable and so are O2 Optix (or Air Optix as they are now called here).
Hope you find ones to suit you! ![]() |
