Hey all, I'm Katie!
I've wanted contact lenses for ages, and when I finally got my first fitting the other day (with daily lenses, the more expensive ones, because I have allergies -_-) it didn't go too well... The optician popped them in, they felt fine for a second, then comes the vaguely familliar fainting feeling, and I had to stumble out and lie on a bench. This is really unfair, because they didn't hurt, and I wasn't nervous about them at all... Has this happened to any of you, and do you think it'll be better when I put them in myself? Thanks Katie ^.^ |

Hey Katie, I'm sorry to hear about that experience.
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone having that problem, but I think it makes sense that you'd be more comfortable if you were in control of the lenses when they went onto your eyes. Best of luck with your lenses. |

Sorry Katie about your experience.....
The first time i've worn contacts, I experinced something similar to that. I had headaches, but I asked some people that I know that wears them for along time, they said that I wasnt used to it..... As time progresses, i did adjust to it. Sorry once again Katie |

Yeah, I guess it was odd. I wasn't expecting it at all. Mind, I had booked my appointment 30 minutes before closing time, so perhaps they thought it'd take me ages to put them in first time, so them putting them in for me gave me time to walk around town in them...
Well, at least if anyone else has the same experience, this proves you can get over it when putting them in yourself! |

Hi Katie,
6 months back i also decided to give a try to contact lenses although i am using spectacles from last 3 years. i felt intense headache after putting the lenses for the first time. But now after 6 month i am very much adapted to it. |

Hi Katie. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. That didn't happen to me when I first tried my contact lenses. The doctor let me put my contacts by myself, and yes, it took me at least half an hour to put them on without the doctor's instructions. You'll get used to it after quite some time and you'll be able to put them on faster.
