While looking for information about contact lenses, I came across one that said "How to Get an Eye Tattoo?"
![]() That's taking punk to a whole new level! Seriously, people get eye tattoos when their eyes are severely deformed and this will make them a bit more acceptable. Does anyone know of anybody who has an eye tattoo? |

Eye tattoos go back over 2000 years in the artic peoples mostly. Having both medicinal powers and other spiritual powers, eye tatoos were needed.
The TATTS swere made using a needle and a piece of sinew dipped in lampblack, urine and soot from a cooking pot (the Face Pic from www.vanishingtattoo.com/arctic_tattoos.htm). Of course thats actually on the skin surface of the eye lid and around the eye itself. Todays permanent eyeliner is similar to it. - Now the guy who had his actual eyeball tattooed. (the Blue ink from www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/article853274.ece) - There was someting many eyars ago called an implanted eye jewel...... (the Heart Eyeball jewelry from www.nytimes.com/2004/12/12/magazine/13EYEBALL.html)Last edited by LENS101; 05-10-2008 at 01:18 PM. I wouldn't want any cosmetic procedures done that close to my eyes. I would be trying to avoid having laser surgery too, if I could. |

Going in for laser surgery are we, Ricardo?

I dont know anyone who has had this done, but I did see a clip on the news about it a while back. People who are into this kind of stuff already just see it as another place or thing to change, no matter how much it hurts or the danger. I couldnt do it, and I would probably be weirded out if I saw someone looking at me with tatooed eyes.

Did anyone else see the urine part? Just what everyone needs. No wonder there was such a high death rate back then...yes, I'd like a urine tattoo...it has symbolic reference, you know...
But, yeah, the tattoo artist definitely wouldn't like me. Its hard enough for me to put contacts in or have someone put eyeliner on me. A needle? I probably would never be able to hold still. |

Yes, I caught the urine part which is unsterile and full of bacteria. I do think the heart tattoo looks cool, and wouldn't definatley draw attention to oneself. Yet, I don't think the bacteria and infections would be worth it. Our eyes are precious and I wouldn't do anything so unclean as this.
