I am just getting ready to get contacts and would like opinions on what you contact lens wearers would advise.. So what worked best for you daily disposable, monthly contact lenses, 1 week etc. and is any one brand better than the other as far as contacts go?

That being said, I'm curious as to what kind of contact lens you're looking for, Simplyme. Do you need a special lens like a bifocal or a toric? Do you think you're the type of person who can can take care of cleaning your contacts each day or would you prefer something you can wear all day and all night? Maybe you'd like daily disposable contact lenses that you can just wear once and then throw them away, no cleaning necessary. I'm no trying to brush you off, I just want to make sure people here at Lens 101 will be able to give you the most useful information they can. Tell us more. |

Well I am waiting to see if I will be required to use any special "style" I have astigmatisms in both eyes so that may play a factor. Honestly though the increased risk of infection makes me kind of nervous with the day and night lenses so I was really steering towards daily disposables. Since I am not extremely familiar any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have an astigmatism too and I wear monthly contacts. I started by wearing contacts that you get once a year but that was a while ago. But now I use the monthly and they I don't have any problems with them and I think they help my astigmatism.
I don't wear my contacts all that often since I'm more comfortable with my glasses but when I do wear the contacts I don't have any problems. |

Yeah I do not mind my glasses but after awhile they just feel so heavy and end up giving me a headache. Not to mention I've lost or sat on at least 5 pairs and that get quite pricey. Oops. Figure I should have better luck with contact lenses.

Well now if you have astigmatism they do have contact lens Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism they're 1-2 week disposable soft contact lens; they also have Focus Dailies Toric 30 pack; and they have Focus Toric these are monthly you can order all these off of 1800contacts or just ask your eye docter about them.
