Does anyone wear prescription sun glasses anymore? I bought my last pair about twenty years ago and that was it. My eyes change too much and too often to buy a pair of prescription sun glasses. When I wear my contacts I can wear any pair of sun glasses but if I'm wearing my glasses, well the sun gets in my eyes.
Last year I bought a pair of sun glasses that I can wear right over my glasses and I love them! I can wear them with or without my contacts and can see clearly again. It's wonderful being able to wear sun glasses over my eye glasses. Now, no matter how often my eye sight changes I have a pair of sun glasses. |

They have those glasses now a days with UV protection built in and that darken in the sun then clear up in the shade. My mother-in-law wears these kind and actually likes them rather well. She also has a back up pair of plain prescription lenses with the snap on sunglass lenses.

Hmm! I thought sunglasses don't have any power in them. I saw most of them have labels saying that they contains certain degree of UV power protection on those on the shelf glass shelf. It never mention anything about power.
Maybe the fads of wearing sunglasses for fashion make them so readily available as an on the shelf product which leads people to believe that it is solely used for sun protection for the eyes in addition to great looks. |

The nicest thing I ever did for myself was buying prescription sunglasses.
I love them and was amazed from the very first time at how much clearer my vision was in them then when I put those fit over sunglasses over my regular glasses. It is important to protect your eyes from those rays/ |

I think the first time I had tried them I had gone to one of those places that give you 2 pair for the price of one pair of glasses. I decided to get the prescription sunglasses and have loved them ever since. They make such a difference in my vision and can help prevent cataracts too.

I went to a place that gave you 2 for the price of 1 and got myself a pair of prescriptions too. Unfortunately for me, I lost my regular glasses in may, so I've been wearing my prescription sunglasses daily ever since. It was really convenient for me since i never had to switch to go to the beach or something. And now that I've started wearing contacts, people have been saying how different I look without a pair of shades covering up my face. However, I'm switching to a thicker frame so my shades will probably just sit in my car until I lose a lens and have my glasses back in my room. It was fun wearing prescription sunglasses in school and telling administrators I needed them to see. And after a while, everyone just started calling me daddy yankee so that was funny.
