When reviewing contact lenses one write did not recommend the use of contacts wile swimming and further suggested that the would-be swimmer wear glasses.
You can't wear glasses while swimming, right? |

I always wear my regular glasses when swimming.
I don't swim underwater at all so they don't usually get wet, or not very wet anyway. I just find no pleasure in swimming and not being able to see what is going on around me let alone be able to interact with the people I came with. They do make prescription goggles and my son has sports glasses that he can wear in and under the water, they just don't keep the water off of your eyes like goggles do. |

I think you can always wear lenses while swimming...provided you wear special goggles for covering your eyes which a normal person also uses to protect his eyes for the chemical present in the water( in pool...mainly chlorine is present which can be harmful for eyes)

Sure my glasses get spots of water on them but I can still see 100% better than I can without the glasses even through those spots.
I don't swim underwater so I can swim without them getting wet usually unless I happen to be by an enthusiastic splasher. |

Glasses do fine underwater. It's when you surface that beads form and you can't see. Also, they sometimes float off of your eyes.

When I went to a water park with my prescription sunglasses I wore one of those elastic thingies that athletes use to keep their glasses on. That worked perfect for keeping them on while going down those wild water slides.

I just don't understand how people can see in glasses while swimming as it bounds to get splashes of water. Why don't you just wear goggles during swimming? It is designed for such a use and it will give you perfect vision.
