Default Legally Blind

My eye doctor told me many years ago that I'm considered legally blind without my eye glasses. I asked him if there was a reason for me to know that since I do war my glasses and can see with them.

He did say that I should know in case I ever go for a job where the employer needs to know that I cannot see without any kind of aid like glasses or contacts. He said the Military would be one such employer.

Is anyone else here legally blind?

That is very interesting. I didn't realize you could be considered legally blind if you use glasses to see.

Any one with vision worse than 20/200 that cannot be improved with corrective lenses is considered legally blind.

I don`t know what my sisters eye sight is. She is legally blind without her glasses. She can see fine with them.

You cannot be legally blind (in the US) without your glasses, the definition of legal blindness includes wording similar to - best CORRECTED vision.

You are only Legally Blind if your vision is very blurry to the extent nothing is impressionable unless you have an aid.

Well skatss, I'm not legally blind but I remember hearing that John Kay, the lead singer of Steppenwolf was legally blind.

He wears sunglasses in just about every photo I've seen of him. I think onstage it's to protect his eyes from the stage lights.
