After doing a little looking around I haven't found the answer to a very common question, so I'm going to ask it here.
From reading various web sites and such, I've concluded that it's pretty much impossible to get a contact lens stuck behind your eye. Still, that doesn't mean it can't get stuck somewhere else. So I've started this thread so you can log on and tell us about the time you thought your contact lens got stuck behind your eye, but it really wasn't, and how you finally got it out. Share with us your favorite ways to remove a stubborn contact lens. |

Well, after 25 years of contacts, RGP's, I can say that it has happened to me a few times.
There you are enjoying your day, something flies up and, of course, gets you right in the eye. Now you have to give your eye a little rub and whoops, there goes your lens, off to the dark side... After much tearing, I found it best to try to reposition the lens by rubbing and maneuvering with my eye closed, looking down so as to reach it. Maybe because my lenses are rigid, this works for me, I wouldn't know about soft lenses as I've never worn them. |
