Default Dale's Intro

Hi, Thank you for this great forum. I'm from Gold Coast Australia.

I've been wearing contact on and off since 1980's. Most recently Pure Vision. I stopped wearing PV a few years ago due to presbyopia and dry eyes. Now looking to trial some newer type lens types for the dry eye and find a solution for managing the presbyopia.

I' m currently trialling monovision distance lens in one eye only which is working out better than when i trialled it 5 years ago. In the past i tried PV multifocals and recently biofinity multifocals but the monovision is the best vision so far. Biofinity multifocals are very comfortable but can't get distance right, I will keep trying.

If I continue with monovision I will have get glasses and sunglasses for driving. For general round the house, out shopping is functional and I love that only one lens to look after.
Thank you for that introduction, goldcaster. I've never heard of Australia having a "Gold Coast." Sounds nice.

So you have wet winters there in Australia?

I would imagine it would depend on what part of the island continent you live on. The climate is pretty varied, I'll bet.

It's mid summer here. Torrential rain, flooding, very humid. I'm on the east coast, an hour north of Byron Bay (the most easterly point).

I thought I'd educate my friends here on Lens 101 with a map showing Byron Bay. In my search I found a picture of a couple of young ladies wearing bikinis at Byron Bay that were apparently made of red dental floss.

This picture's a bit more SFW.

I see you just had to see that picture. Just to make sure that Delta88 wasn't lying to us all, I suppose. Good work. Keep it up.
