Hi, Metsman. No, I'm not at all opposed to doing just that. I've never used reading glasses before but have already purchased some. The problem is more trying to get my eyes back to working "together" again. It's taken several types of contact trials to even find something I could stand to wear. I do have a slight astigmatism but it's oblique at an axis of 60 which is harder to correct anyway. My 2nd doctor seemed to think that since it hasn't ever really changed through the years that straight spherical contacts and readers would probably be the best option. My problem is that my left peripherial (close up eye) vision tends to double unless I'm looking directly at the object and sometimes it seems like the eye just are having a time pulling together. I know it took time to adapt to monovision but I've always worn glasses at night for straight distance and was fine. I wasn't ready for adapting the other direction. Any input would be great.
