Question Daily usage duration of contacts

Hi, new member here.

I've worn (and removed after a couple of hours) contacts for the first time today. I have a question regarding contacts time usage daily.

I've been told that new users should wear contacts for around 4 hours daily at the begining, then generally increase the time as the days go by, until then we're able to wear contacts for a whole day until we go to sleep.

I've got a slight problem though. I bought the contacts today because of a very important job I've got on Saturday evening, which is serving food and drinks in a hall to very important people, such as the ambassadors in Malta and the president. Now, I would need the contacts because I can't afford slip ups, though by Saturday I wouldn't be able to wear the contacts for long if I should go by the 4-hour criteria.

I'll have to work around 8 hours so I'll be home after 9 hours, where I can then remove the contacts safely and appropriately.

I'm not sure what to do. Should I go ahead for that day and wear them for longer than usual? Is it really THAT much of a big deal?

Thank you. I've been really worried about this, considering I can't mess things up that day!

EDIT: Oh sorry, wrong forum! Mine's ACUVUE2, therefore this should be in the weekly forum part.
