Post Replacement schedule for O2 Optix?
Why is it in the UK we are told to replace O2 Optix every 4 weeks, but when I read US statements about them it says replace them every 2 weeks?

That is odd. My doctor (here in the States) tells me to replace them every two weeks at the latest. I wonder if they're made differently in the UK. I'm curious as to why this is, too!

I'm not sure about the UK but here we have the FDA that set certain guidelines for contact lenses. The lens may very well work for up to a month but the FDA may have decided that the risks for infection may be too great.

as far as i know FDA says replace lens afer 1-2 weeks when you wear it overnight !

and replace it every 4 weeks when do not wear it overnight...

but it also depends on how your tear film... is. So your docotor my decide another replace intervall....

According to Ciba Vision O2 Optix has a TWO WEEK wearing schedule.
It can be worn as an extended wear lens for up to 6 nights with dr.'s supervision.

At least you know where you are with good old Proclear compatibles, they may always tear before the month is up but you know how long you can wear them whichever country you live in!

Makes you wonder, maybe they are designed to tear after a year as a kind of built in safety measure.
