Thumbs up How do I Know Which is My Dominant Eye for Monovision?

Monovision lenses are a very interesting idea. One eye sees up close while the other eye is for seeing things far away. From what I've studied, the dominant eye is predominantly used for one or the other, I forget which. I guess that would be my first question, do you always put one type of contact lens in your dominant eye? The other logical question is, which one is my dominant eye? Is it the same as my dominant hand? Can it really be that simple?

Default How do I Know Which is my Dominant Eye for Monovision?

It's not a hard and fast rule, but when working with monovision contacts, the dominant eye is usually the one used to see distant objects.
If you want to know which is your dominant eye, chose a task that requires you to use only one eye, like looking through a telescope, microscope or magnifying glass. (Peepholes are not recommended, unless they're in your front door. ) The eye that you use for these tasks is most likely your dominant eye.
