How do Proclear Compatibles feel in dry environments, such as an air-conditioned office in front of a computer screen? Do they make you want to keep the moisturizing drops close at hand?

These lenses are great in hot dry climates! This and hydrocurve ll are the only lenses I can wear here in Phoenix during the summer.

That's great to know, Stephanie. I guess someone from Phoenix knows something about hot dry climates.
Have you looked at the sunglasses section here in Lens 101? I bet you know a thing or two about sunglasses.

Saw both my ophthalmologist and optometrist yesterday. Since I still haven't had my FreshLook Colors prescription filled yet, and I only have one lens left, I asked my optomotrist if I could have just two contacts "to hold me over". She said sure, and came back with a two packets of clear Proclear. She explained that out of all the contacts on the market, Proclear was the best choice for individuals with dry eyes.

I have to wait for my left eye to heal before trying them out, however I am anxious to see if she was correct.

"Waiting for your left eye to heal"? What happened, catt? Are you okay?

How are those Proclears, Catt?

Happy New Year, by the way.

Happy New Years to you also Purpleiris -- and the entire board.

I did wear the Proclear for a few weeks, and yeah, they felt ok. However when I finally got around to buying the new FreshLook Colors VIOLET contacts and inserting them into the eyes, gotta tell you -- sorry to say --- that I felt no discernable difference between both brands.

Thanks for the New Year good wishes.

So I read your posting here and it sounds like you're just as comfortable in your regular FreshLook Colors contacts as the special Proclear lenses that your eye doctor gave you because they're the "best choice" for your dry eyes. Does that sound like a good summary of your experience? If so that's good news for you and your FreshLook colors, right?

Yep, this is correct. Give the man a cigar (or a box of Rice-A-Roni)

I'll take the Rice-a-Roni. I don't smoke, although a box of rice with artificial flavoring is probably just about as bad for one's health. Watch that sodium intake!

I might also win a few points from the catt lady from the San Franciso Bay area. Does it ever get cold where you are? And by "cold" I mean below 40 degrees?

Catt takes back the offer for a box of free Rice-A-Roni, and tells Curlupndye:

"OMG, yes it gets cold here! For the past few months, it's been below 40 degrees every frigging night. (I sleep with my patio door open, so that my dog, a rough coat Chow who doesn't know the meaning of cold, can sleep on the large deck outside of my bedroom - or not).

And Mt. Diablo -- which is so close that I can ride my bike to the bottom of it -- has been covered in snow more than a few times this winter."

Burrrrrrrr. I keep at least one patio door (either first or second floor) open during the day for the dogs, so I am sitting here typing this wrapped in a small electric blanket. BURRRRRRR!!

You sound like a catt who loves her dogs. I suppose shivering under an electric blanket and typing with numb fingers is better than the dogs pawing at the door to go out, huh?

I'll take that Rice-a-Roni, although Curlupndye said he would. You did give it him originally after all.

Well, at least they didn't feel worse. Do you still have a preference?
