I found a post on another (inferior!) site that said that if you're wearing Purevision contact lenses and your eyes feel dry, you're essentially screwed because Purevision is the best lens around for dry eye.
Please tell me there's no truth to this incredible statement. I'm sure Purevision is a fine contact lens, but come on . . . |

Yes, Purevision is a very good contact lens and there are a lot of happy customers who wear them. Still, I think it's bit of an exaggeration to say that they are "as good as it gets." Of course, there's a lot to be said for individual preferences. Everyone has their favorite contact lens. Are there any contact lenses that stand out?
According to its own website, Proclear Compatible contacts are pretty good. They are specially designed with dry eyes in mind. They talk about their secret ingredient: "PC Technology". That stands for phosphorylcholine, which is a material that interacts naturally with your own tear film. So no, Purevision is not the be-all and end-all of soft contact lenses. |

It's not true about Pure Vision contacts being the best. They are good, but it depends on the person, their tear chemistry, the solutions they are using and the fit of the contacts. Proclear is a good lens for dry eyes. My favorite is the Acuvue Oasys. Before trying a different brand of contact lens, change your solution to one of the Optifree multipupose solutions or ClearCare. Because PureVision is a silicon lens, not all solutions are fully compatible with this new lens material.

Thank you ICU2 and Eyebike1 for your input. I really like this website. You can get good input from people who aren't just out to sell their contact lenses.
