We never did find out what brand of contact lenses, Siru is wearing. Any more guesses? I don't know what brand they are.

Thank you, Logopolis. Such a lovely surprise on a Monday morning.
Yup. Same here.
I don't think I got those things with my latest pair of glasses. Maybe because I was a repeat customer. Maybe the cleaner and cloth are part of a "welcome kit" for new customers.
Yeah, don't they have a warning on the polish about the fumes or something?
Those wipes do seem to work pretty well, and you can buy the package shown for a buck or two if I remember correctly.
Hi Patrick. Thanks for joining us. Reading over your posting, it seems like the thing to do right now would be to wear daily lenses, at least for a while. You say you're "not a big fan" of daily...
Sorry, do you have two prescriptions for one eye, or did you mean to type "I have a +9.5 prescription in my left eye and -3.0 in my right eye"?
Coopervision.com says all Proclear lenses are designed to be worn for 30 days except, of course, Proclear 1 day and Proclear 1 Day multifocal.
So you found the site, then?
Is that true or are you just making a joke, luvbostonxo2's? Do you know why the models eyes are like that?
Another thing I wonder about is why they chose that woman to model the box of contacts?...
Well, at least somebody makes special cycling sunglasses.
Funny, I don't think of naughty bits when I see a lipstick. Perhaps you should consider a session on the couch? ;)
No, I can's use that picture. (Blush)
How about this one?
Thanks for sparing us the interesting pictures, Hottchick. Were there pictures of hot chicks?
Do you suppose you could ask their permission? It will probably be good for business and you'd be doing them a favor. I don't know why they would mind getting referrals, but I understand your concern.
Thanks for the suggestion, luvbostonxo2's. I hope people will find your post practical.
Thanks for the recommendation. Do you know of any website that might suggested specific brands as alternatives for contact lenses like Goldar wished for above?
Here's the Wikipedia definition:
Spherical lenses have a single power in all meridians of the lens, such as +1.00 D, or −2.50 D.
Astigmatism, however, causes a directional blur. Below are two...
You plucked fragments of a broken contact lens out of your eye, and also rescued one that slipped under your eyelid. You must have nerves of steel, BobbyD.
Thanks, BobbyD. You saved the thread.
So what was it about the target type of bifocal lenses that you didn't like? What kind of bifocal contact lenses do you use now, if any?
I didn't know that. Thanks for the facts, sylvia.
How many is "many" though? You say that there are "far more unhappy clients on the web than happy ones." The web is a big place.
I'm not a defender of this New Color Iris surgery, I just want the...
Thanks for the quick reply. That sounds to me like a freak accident, though. I wouldn't say that "many of them become blinded or develop holes in their iris."
Hi Ash.
Sorry to hear about your predicament. I've read posts by others who were in a similar position. Just when you find a lens you like, they go and discontinue it. Go figure.
Fortunately, I...
"Better" but still not "great," I gather?
That's good to know, luvbostonxo2's. Do you have any suggestions for akaivyleaf to find a new eye doctor that haven't already been given?
I think they have restrictions about posting links so people don't spam us with "buytonsofviagra.com."
Gee, that's too bad. I've read posts in the past saying that Lens.com charges a lot to ship their lenses internationally. Have you compared the shipping costs to other contact lens websites? Maybe...
Thanks for the clarification. I was a little confused too, but too shy to ask. :o
Where did you hear about people developing holes in their irises? I did a quick search but the only thing I found about "holes in the iris" due to the New Color Iris procedure was when they were...
He seems happy though. Maybe he likes being an eternal optometrist. It beats retiring.
Cross-references. Cool!
That's good. I bet it was nice going back to not feeling anything on your contact lenses again.
Wow. Lovely sinus cavities you have there, Sweet Cheeks.
Man, this thread is like a sci-fi convention. All we need now is a Star Wars mention and maybe some Battlestar Glactica and we'll be fully geeked out.
I would guess that's the reason they're called "trial" lenses. You try them for a while and in the likely event that you don't like them for some reason, you can easily get different trial lenses...
Yes, if you're allergic. Anything else?
That's true. In most cases you put your daily lens in when you wake up and then take it out and throw it away before you go to bed. "No muss, no fuss" as they say.
Here's a little nugget from that website:
"What does My SoClear® mean to My Practice?
Allows you to give your patients great vision, with comfort. Practitioners are seen as professionals in the...
We haven't heard anything from Simosa in a long time. I hope that this story came to a satisfactory conclusion.
Yeah, right. Gotta watch those protuberances.
These are toric lenses and so they're designed to rotate. They have to be on your eyes a certain way or else everything will go all fuzzy. Did one of your Frequency 55 Toric XR contact lenses get...
Have you noticed that your Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric UV contact lenses feel pretty good when you first put them in your eyes, but then after a few minutes they begin to feel uncomfortable, and the...
Hopefully, you will never fold your contact lenses, but some contact lenses have a habit of folding over on themselves when you try to put them in. How do Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric - Complements...
When you put your contact lenses in, did they feel comfortable right away? Did you know in a moment that these were going to work out well for you?
Are you co-existing peacefully with your Durasoft 3 contact lenses? How long have you been wearing them without any issues?
If you were to give these lenses a rating of zero to four stars, how many stars would you rate them? If you're the thorough type, maybe you can give separate ratings for comfort, price, ease of...
There are a ton of different contact lenses out there, and many of them are even colored toric lenses. What made you buy Durasoft 2 Optifit Toric - Colors? Was it more than just your eye doctor...
Once you get your Biofinity contact lenses settled in your eyes, do you still feel them? Can you feel them rotating when you blink?
Is there any particular thing that makes your contact ClearSight lenses feel dry, itchy, painful or otherwise uncomfortable whenever you encounter that thing?
Do your Biomedics Toric lenses stay comfortably moist all through the day, or do they sometimes get dry and uncomfortable? Do you notice any particular circumstances when they dry out more often?
For those of you who have worn both Durasoft 2 Optifit Toric contact lenses and glasses, which give you better vision? Have you gone back to glasses after you tried Durasoft 2 contacts?
I see that this is your first post, bdess. Welcome.
I don't know very much about how eye exams work, but i think you may be right about your right eye not needing a toric lens. If you've already...
I agree cleyes. When it comes to eye health, I prefer to be on the conservative side.
That's always a good idea, cleyes.
Unless your contact lens fitter routinely does this to you:
So you haven't found the same joy of living and seeing that subtly-named Avaira Cures Presbyopia has found in these contact lenses? You have to wear glasses to read, even though you already have...
Thanks Finbar. I hope those lot numbers help people find relief.
You're sure you've got the lenses in the right eyes, then? Just want to make sure all the bases are covered.
Is that right? Why is that?
Good thing redraidermommy said "I've had a sinus infection (for at least a few weeks now) and R ear infection, in addition to my horrid allergies, and I had to stop...
Sorry mlouherrera. Cleyes is right. I checked Lens.com and the only contacts that they list as being made with comfilcon A are Biofinity, Biofinity Torics and SofMed Breathables, and none of these...
Does that mean that there are no toric lenses that you can wear at night in the US?
Cool, thanks. How did you find that out?
I found this link right here on Lens 101: http://www.lens101.com/acuvue/125953-ultraviolet-disinfection.html
Here's the rest of the threads that at least have the word "ultrasonic" it them...
I like to think that this forum has been warning people about the dangers of wearing your contact lenses too long--and you've just added your contribution--but I'm afraid that there will always be...
That sounded like a good suggestion from cleyes, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what the doctor says.
It's kind of the opposite of that commercial where the guy pulls out his credit card and suddenly everyone becomes friendly and helpful, huh?
Good, I'm glad I could give you a helpful suggestion (and a chuckle) and I'm glad you have someone to help you with the technical stuff. :)
Hi qtrmidget. Four weeks should be enough time to adjust to new lenses. Did you notice these focusing problems right away, or did they take a while to develop?
Someone asked a similar question...
Hopefully you can get this figured out and then come back and tell us about it.
Hi sproutjps. I went to Lens.com and looked up Wesley Jessen under "Manufacturer" and then found the only thing that looked to me like "D3 colors," which was Durasoft 3 Colors (D3*OP) contact lenses....
I did a Google search and found this:
Researchers conducted a ten-year study to determine the long-term safety and effectiveness of laser eye surgery. The results were presented in November 2006...
I found this on eyecaresource.com
Having a sufficient quantity of a normal healthy tear film is a requirement for a successful LASIK Eye Surgery procedure. A healthy tear film contains several...
Have you been to your eye doctor to make sure your eyes are still healthy after you've "worn contact lenses for way over their period"? You don't want to mess around with the health of your eyes.
So would you say that you have this dry eye thingy under control?
Hi Immortal25. A toric lens is a special lens for people who have astigmatism. One side of it is slightly thicker than the other so that part stays under the lower eyelid. With astigmatism it's...
This might be a bit confusing, but manufacturers made it much easier. Cleaning solution containers have a red tip to warn you that the solution should not be put in your eyes. If cleaner is...
I agree Bonkers. I'd probably be so stressed out if I looked for any chance of offense from anything said to me. I've got better things to do.
They have a website you can go to. Here's the introduction:
Dakota Sciences is a full service Optical Company. We deliver high quality in our SoClear Brand of Contact and Ophthalmic lens. Our...
Say what? You got contact lenses by just guessing your base curve? How is that possible? I thought that when you ordered contact lenses you had to give them a copy of your prescription along with...
According to Wikipedia: "Gray and green lenses are considered neutral because they maintain true colors."
As for Ray-Bans with green lenses, I found about a half a dozen of them:

So, what . . . kids are getting tested for eye problems earlier now? I think you may be right.
Yeah, it's best to keep all your pictures together if possible. People may not look at them at all if they have to search for them. Let's not forget that this is the generation who invented "The...
I think that's a great idea, Sadiepoo. Thanks for mentioning it. Maybe my fellow Lens 101 members and I will bring it up at our next doctor's appointment.
So you tried a +1.75 in one eye and a...
Thanks for the update. I hope you'll be telling us soon that you've got some contacts that you love. :)
Okay, I hope you'll keep us posted on how you like those two lenses and if you have a preference for one over the other.
Yeah, the title of this thread is "Cataract Growth Rate." Can we get back to that subject?
I've never heard of a biannual lens. The closest things I know of are monthly and yearly lenses. What is the name of these six month lenses by CooperVision?
Has your situation improved, Finbar?
Have you ever had a doctor who was a prescription Nazi? You know, like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld? Your doctor will examine your eyes but won't give you a prescription for your Avaira contact...
I was looking at the pictures in this thread and I was just about to ask the same question, Nichobec.
Where has gnadt and her lovely blue eyes got to?
We haven't heard back from you since you posted this AJRT. Have you found this information to be helpful?
Why do I expect that you'll respond to this when you haven't responded to anything else so...
Do you know what the initials TMI mean, QuietLunatic?
So far no one's found it yet, Money.
That good answer did help out Rawbob. Thank you KatKatKat.
You made a good point about wearing daily lenses to bed and then having to clean them. You wouldn't have to do that if you would just...
That's what I figured, Anazak, and that's why I asked. I'm sure there are one or two people out there who were given the green light by their eye care professional to wear their one day contacts...
What should you do if you accidentally wear your Vertex Toric XR contacts too long? Is that a medical emergency?
Did you ever start using a different kind of contact lens solution to clean your Vertex Sphere contact lenses because it was cheaper and live to regret it? Tell us your story.
I read that you might want to use enzyme cleaners to clean your contacts. First of all, what are "enzyme cleaners" and can they be used on Biomedics EP contact lenses?
When you were fitted for your Avaira contact lenses, were you given a recommendation for a cleaning solution to use with them? How about a free sample?
Would an eye care proffesional ever give the green light to someone wearing 1-Day Acuvue TruEye overnight while they slept? If so, why would they do that?
